I'm so glad you posted this. I was just saying that Texans should really start thinking about thier right to pull out from the Union. I'm sure that would create a huge rippliing effect through out the rest of the united states though.
It would send a real message if texas did. As far as the federal goverment not allowing texas to. The federal goverment would not use military power. Texas has a well equiped national guard and would have thousand if not tens of thousands of volunteers in militias!!!

Hell, my fervent wish is that California, New York and Vermont would leave the union. Then you guys could stay.

Their national guard wouldn't have any equipment had it not been given to them by the federal government.
Does this mean that Texas would take responsibility for their part of the border problem? Doubtful since they have yet to do so w/ their oh so powerful national guard.
As much noise as the Texas governor is making about succession, I bet he is still accepting stimulus money as are Texans in general.
The day Texas as a whole stands up and rejects every penny of that stimulus is the day I would support that state to succeed, because then & only then would they proove they are willing to stand on their own.

important people come up missing too and also i bet the government officials that we don't know about can be very convincing . but straight out in the open military force would never be used .

Texas has rejected all 555 million in stimulus money they were offered.
jaynimble: Well texas would recieve more money because less would be going to the Feds so. Either way they can still pay for it.
Just because less would be going to the Feds doesn't mean more would be going to Texas.
What is Texas going to do? Raise taxes? Isn't that kind of contradictory to do? If people wanted the higher taxes, they would have stayed in the Union in the first place.
Look at it like this......just President Obama way of being President Lincoln like. President Lincoln had a crisis of Southern State Seceding. President Obama needs a succession crisis as well.
Let us face it...unless President Obama successfully faces every imagined crisis a President can face...he cannot not be numero uno on the great Presidential list.

Texas State Troopers do rotations to help the military out on the border patrol. And Jay is correct about Texas not accepting O BAMA's payout that comes with too many strings. You should really do your homework before you go wagging that tongue.
We could also start protecting the border the way it should be protected...alot of the problem there is all the government rules and regulations they have to follow before our guys can open fire or send them back across the border.
Are you forgetting that you're talking about a state that is all for killing people...we're the home of sparky. You think Texans won't be able to handle their own??? There's a reason terrorists don't target Texas!!!!
Texas has always reserved the right to pull out and become its own country. Texas has all of its own resources. It's not as far fetched as some think it is.

What are they going to target? The Dallas Cowboys?
As far as it being far fetched, its not nearly as magical of an idea either as some think it is.
Texas will be fine financially. They hava alot of natural resources and a very expensive one too! OIL and they also have the Dalas Cowboys cheerleads!! Thats got to count for something. lol
It not a basis for my argument, its my way of saying you don't understand the basic concepts of what i am arguing and it isn't worth it if you can't even understand that.

The only problem I see is that the US map would look really funny.
