I vote for 2 and 7, but now I had to turn mine off. I hate it when i'm in the middle of something, then in pops an IM. I think people should send you an email 1st to ask for your permission. To me, IMing someone out of the blue is like going to someones house unannounced. Is it just me who feels this way?

I feel the same way about the IM's. I have mine turned off. I think someone should e-mail first asking permission instead of disturbing me while I'm on the forums.

I see IM's like phone calls with caller ID... we have the options to turn it on or off or ignore. many times I'm in the forums and I wind up doing IM's for hours.

I would say the I'M thing wouldn't be so bad if we knew who was on the other end before we accepted it. i would like for it to ask me well *name* is messaging you do you accept this I'M . and than it wouldnt be so bad that would stop all the crazed I'mer who knows you wish not to talk to them.
But im not complaining i think CS does a wonderful job with the site they have and the people seem to stick together on about all issues , which shows Just a big family.. *not that we kin or anything

I agree i prefer if someone emails me first to ask. When you are in the forums and having a laugh, its a pain being disturbed although i like to chat with people through IM sometimes too as its faster and you can have a proper chat. I think its all about etiquette...

I turned mine off. I felt like I was only being IMed by people I had no desire to talk to. And it was always when I was in a hurry and just on here to check my messages really quickly.

That's a nice bit of info to have.
I'm not really crazy about them. I'd rather take my time with responses, and I hate it when people won't wait and send two or three before I get one out, then I'm answering what they said 4 sentences ago. Kinda like talking to someone and not ever giving them a chance to answer back. Grrrrrr.
