I guess its the addiction and the tendency to give in to the urge to indulge in the thing again and again that takes the toll. All of them would be equally addictive.
Actually it depends on your experience in the particular area. If you win once and then dont win for a few days and win again, its intermittent reinforcement which sets the pattern for addiction in reality.
Yep.... But I do love video poker in Elko Nevada.....they still have the old type video poker machines. I can play them for hours and hours (but may need to get up for a pee break) I limit the $ I take and don't take any credit cards.
I think the gee-gees are the most highly addictive. I do play the odd poker machine but very very rarely. It has to be horses the amount of bookmakers in ireland alone is scandalous (sp?). I dont gamble maybe a small amount on grand national day, that is all.
Lottery tickets I'd say. Although not all that exciting or action packed but at least where I live they are SOOOOOOOO readily available and everywhere. If you had that issue it'd sure be hard to kick it.
Yes, that's what I've noticed, a lot of single parents on benefits buy them then when they win £1 or £3 on them they come back into the shop and spend that on cards, obviously hoping that somehow they are going to win a really big prize. It's quite sad really cos they look as if they could do to spend the money of food for themselves and their kids.
I won about $250 one night at video poker. I think the biggest single win was $100 two times in one night. The best I've ever come home with was about $350.00. I just like the excitement and working the odds. If I break even, I think I've had a good time.
The best times I've had is when I've went by myself. Otherwise it's "let's go play this, I'm bored..."
Hi Irishman You're right, the odd flutter probably isn't too bad. My mate whos addicted to horses spends about £200 a week and literally does lose the shirt off her back as she walks around in rags and hardly has no money for food. I'm just glad I only have my chocolate addiction,it works out a lot cheaper
I just realized I worded title of this poll wrong, it should have read which gambling habit is the most addictive..lol
