Depends upon where most reside. Makes more sense for four people to drive, for example, to Miami if twelve of the people reside in the Miami area. Can't narrow it down to a poll. Logically it ould be more beneficial for a thread and a discussion.
I picked Orlando for 2 good reasons. 1, it's centrally located and 2, because Disneyland & Universal studios is nearby in case anybody might want to go there.
Miami is too far south and it's very expensive.
Key West is even further south so it isn't close to anybody. Besides being beautiful, there probably isn't a whole lot to do there.
Jacksonville is a slum as is Tallahassee from what I've seen and heard.
Completely agree on most your points. The only one that I disagree with is that Key West is awesome and I try to go as much as possible. Orlando would be the best place I put the others in there just because like I said curious. I would like to see something like an event but I don't believe anytime in the near future would be possible-we'll see

SensualVixen-just for fun post I am not personally planning anything but I can see how a discussion would be the best way to plan something-thank you for the thought

Tampa isn't much to write home about either.

In the interest of full disclosure I must admit the furthest south I've ever been is Ft Lauderdale. I haven't heard must about Miami that was "inspiring" and I've heard Key West is gorgeous. Maybe one day I'll make it down there.
On rethinking my comments I think Busche Gardens in Tampa would be a great place to meet. I've been there twice and I'd pick it over Disney hands down. Of course my favorite part of FL is old Florida like Lake Wales, Frostproof, and Babson Park. No tourists and lots of orange groves. That's where the real Florida can be found.

Tampa is a very nice area. Just across the Bay to Gulf bridge is Clearwater, and Clearwater Beach, another beautiful area. St Pete is close by and Orlando is only a little over an hour away.
I love the area and wouldn't mind moving there one day.
I have stayed in Lake Wales I don't like it. Key West is beautiful tourist trap yes a lot of bars HELL YES!! it's great I used to vacation there every year. Bush Gardens ahhh that's a weak spot for me as I am a secret adrenaline junkie-well not so secret anymore i guess huh

USThumper: This time of year, Lake Ontario in central NY. Get out of the heat.
Here is where I sound like everyone else from these parts-it's not the heat it's the humidity...I am moving soon I hope-north where there are seasons and wonderful snow...yes I am native Floridian and believe that snow is wonderful!
Actually, besides Key West, St. Augustine is a wonderful place. I have been there with my new beau on several occasions. That was actually our first meeting place because he lives in south florida and i live in georgia........
