I go for the books. I'll have the time, at last, to catch up reading.
the email program.....I take it there is an internet connection? That way I would get people to scan books for me, send me songs, join a dating site for me( I would receive the answers) etc. And last but not least I could send out messages>
For me it would be the telephone, (no limit on usage).
I could get my friends to play their radios on it and I could chat with everyone about everything for as long as they could stand it.
All the above uses are covered using a phone, apart from viewing something, and I'd rather hear it, and see it with my mind anyway.
I could get talking books, have romantic chats, hear the news, listen to music, know what time it was in every country in the world, and have access to just about everyone. I could talk to the people I would normally mail. There are many chat lines too.
If I wanted silence I could just hang up from time to time.
If the telephone connection had fax too then nothing would be a problem as far as communication is concerned.
As long as I wasn't getting the bill for all this.........
If I was stuck on that island forever, I don't think I'd want any of those things, other than the books perhaps. I would not want to see or hear what I would be sorely missing, it would drive me crazy.
getting away from tv is a good reason to go live on a desserted island in the first place .. so that's a no no .. I'm surprised there's no msn choice ,,, would have got my vote .. so email instead as I can chat from my email instead ..
I like your answers. But if one considers the given situation, the Desert Island is deserted. Thus no electricity. Thus no computers, no radio, no telephone antennas (thus no cell phones working over there)...
Anyway, even if it were electricity (and the rest), I would still go for the books.
