It's not just Obama's buddies who think that because they're buddy buddy with someone that they're above the law.I know of people who are not in the political arena who think they're above the law because they may have friends in higher up places.

That's everywhere...getting to be "the norm" in today's world!

I know it's everywhere.I've had my home broke into and the person who did this thought he was above the law because he had friends and relatives within the city police dept and the city attorney's office etc.
America is corrupted right down to the core...and guess where the core is...you guessed it...the government!
If your a politician, your a thorn in my side! Lets fire every damn one of them, and start new...get people in there that are NOT politicians. JMO
The majority of Americans have set and "let" things happen to them because they are too lazy to stand up and invoke their rights as defined by the Constitution. It has been told to us over and over-you are only one person you can't make a difference...we have become complacent and sheep-we sit and complain and blog about how the government is running yet how many people have actually voiced their opinion-not just once but over and over again? I have personally memorized the governor's phone number and call almost everyday. I don't care I don't agree with the way things are going. I refuse to sit by and allow my child to believe that there are people allowed to get away with things when others are not. I was not raised that way and neither were my parents or their parents. There was a time when I said how proud I was to live here in America because we were treated with respect-unless you screwed up big time. I am proud that at it's heart this is a good nation unfortunately there are a lot of changes that need to be made and they won't happen as long as all anyone ever does is say "this stinks they shouldn't do that" IMO-only

I would indeed be surprised if anybody would fail to mention having a cop in the family or have a friendship with a big politician esp the President of the United States when confronted by the police. Come on, fess up, if you were "Connected" and got stopped for speeding for instance, tell me you wouldn't mention this fact. Because 98% of the time this bit of info would get you off with a warning and not a ticket. Isn't that being above the law to some extent?
As to Obama's "stupidly" comment, well that was just plain stupid, and even Democrats are shaking their heads over that faux pas. Obama needs to calm down a bit, Rome wasn't built in a day, he needs to learn when to NOT do something.

Maybe I'm the exception to the rule.I have an older brother who's in law inforcement and No I wouldn't expect 'Special' treatment just because I'm his sister.

I wouldn't expect special treatment because I'm related to a Florida Senator... If I am breaking the law and it's been know to happen every now and then I would expect to pay the penalty-if I knew the President personally I wouldn't mention it...Obama opened his mouth and he does need to learn how to shut it sometimes.....
