Sure they are. Few people actually date someone they find physically unappealing.
You have to have some form of attraction before you date someone... don't you?

Well, yes, but the same things don't attract us. You may think a guy is gorgeous because he's slim and tall. He may think a woman is gorgeous because she has a great butt. That woman may want a bald man. I am constantly amazed at the men and women that I see with someone who looks...uninteresting to me..

and, if i can't "peal" somebody, i aint gonna' date 'em....

i see that, as well...mostly when i'm alone

exactly...I never know whether to think, "Why isn't he with me?" or "So glad he's not with me!"

All depends how you meet. You certainly wouldnt pick up someone you find unappealing in the bar (not talking about beer goggles).

But a friend or aquaintance you have known a while can woo you with their charisma and inner beauty regardless of you initial thoughts on their outward appearance

But those are often one-sided.

there has to be a physical attraction to someone to even begin a relationship. If anyone says looks don't matter at all are lying

Overall society is a superficial lot. Now days it is all about how you look.

I agree 100%! We are who and what we are because looks do matter and our parents and grandparents and ancestors further back were physically attractive to one another. Unfortunately, it's often politically incorrect to admit to it. Oh well...

When it was different?

wel if we are going to be picky no skin of my nose i tend to see that ther are dating sites that only take attractive people who are slim pretty and then i see some of the other dating sites that only take on men who are wealthy and they do screen you before your application is even approved this goes for men looking for women and women looking for wealthy men



with me what you see is what you get i am no play boy i am no hunk but i am happy with who i am i am also good on the inside i notice this when it comes to women they want to see what is on the inside but some tend to not bother they wil date jerks that are not right for them thes ones go for the looks and some of the jersk i see act like my son spoilt little brats who are good at having a dummy spit



i go for what is in the heart more then the out side appearance i guess its the way i have been raised and the women who i had gotten to know that i am like the way i am

Regardless of what we are told "supposed" to be attractive.

In that scenario, I would say, they are quite important !

Probably before your time. In the 60's and 70's. I still remember how things use to be. Most everyone today is looking for perfection, but on the outside. Things use to run deeper.
