If you could vote on the Lisbon Treaty, what would you vote, and why?
Very shortly in my country we will hold a referendum (vote) which will determine the future of the European Union. I've heard everything the politicians have to say about it, but what i REALLY want to know is what my fellow europeans think about it, since at the end of the day it will affect us all

You will see France and Germany at each others Throat one more time! Both tried the other way to dominate Europe, failed,so now they are trying the "nice" political collectivist way,and will fail again. Small Countries are getting crushed by that Crew in Brussels. Nonelected Bureaucrats have more power than elected Officials, and that has always been a Recipe for Failure! They are screwing with my Rights, and CH isn't even a Member of that failing Club!
smoky: Not living in my own country, and having no vote here, I know nothing about it..... What`s it about? "The future of the EU"....
Same thing here Gunjani don't have any clue. By the way does it have anything to do with those guys spreading milk in the farm two or three weeks ago ???????
casanova6: If you want more sovereign and democratic powers transferred to an unelected and disjointed commission, accountable to nobody, then vote Yes.
The Lisbon Treaty gives more power to the European Parliament that controls and can reject the Commission's proposals. The MEP are elected by YOU. You should vote YES to keep control on your life.

Tomorrow we are been asked again to vote on the Lisbon Treaty, last year we said NO......
mike_irish: Tomorrow we are been asked again to vote on the Lisbon Treaty, last year we said NO......
Yeah I know. Hope you will say YES this time and stop blocking the whole process. I think it was no good idea to allow some countries to vote on this treaty. Most of people do not understand anything about the Treaty and just vote NO if they do not like their actual government or YES if they support the government. They confuse the national politics with the EU politics.
I think more countries voted yet if they didn't like their government and how it was run, thinking that eu running it would be better.....
In Ireland we have a true democracy in that if there is an important decision to be made, up to the present time, then every person in the country, who has a vote, can decide for themselves in a referendum.
Most of the people here, who understand the importance of taking responsibility for their own decisions, like that choice.
Voting "yes" would take that privelidge away forever.
It is only in a monetary way that Ireland would gain if people voted "yes" this time, certainly not socially or culturally.

I think that if you want to have any small opportunity to express your opinion, better stay in the "club"!...At least you can say what you think and people has to listen to you...I live in switzerland and in this country people are asked to vote for many many different subjects...so I would say yes....but didn't read the treaty!

And I suspose you sign blank pieces of paper only for your bank manager to fill the blanks in later....
Phoenix: I'll give my reasons later....but the short answer is i'd vote 'NO'....
For probably the same reasons I would vote Yes
Make no fuzz about it, this treaty will change Europe in its foundations, and I am not sure, wrong... I AM sure not many have got a good grip about what it is all about. If you hesitate about what it translates to regarding autonomous rights among today's members, control over finance and education, yes, anything about what you are used to know coming from your local mp and his mates... vote No.
No one should vote yes without understanding this one.
