I never have and never will hunt just for sport. But I have hunted for food and I see nothing wrong with that, although others may feel differently, it's understandable.
Me thinks that "hunting for food" should have been another option in the poll, as both of the current ones are practically the same, only worded slightly differently.

Without Hunting, Half the cars would be damaged, and you wouldnt have, enough food as the animals would overrule...
Look What the Dog pound does with dogs and cats, they have to put them to sleep.... without Hunters, you may be starving as the animals would ruin the whole fields

seekndestroy: yeah.... somehow they dont seem like much of a challenge.....tho a mounted one may look good on my wall !!!!!!
they are too easy they sleep 14 hours a day. If you want a real challenge you cant go past a Big Red Kangaroo..... They grow to about 7 feet in height. can totally write of your car if you hit one & even do serious damage to big rigs.

I dont like to kill innocent birds and animals, that is cruel not intrested ,but my uncle was an international hunter he went to hunt in africa and bangladesh
Actually, throughout my younger years it was a necessity to eat. We couldn't afford to feed our huge family from month to month, so hunting deer, elk, and antelope was needed to just make it by. The most important thing was we had food on the table every day and we didn't starve. So maybe some people do it for a trophy buck, but we did it for food and most of us still do today. One deer can save hundreds in the food bill every year. An Elk can save a whole lot more. I have always loved Elk meat better than beef because there is no wild or cow dairy taste in elk meat. It the best meat out there. (Even better than chicken). So people who say butchering a cow is different than butchering an elk or deer are crazy. Cattle are an animal too, so is a chicken and people still gobble up those little creatures. For a time, they sold deer meat in the stores here. In Alaska, when a Moose is hit by a car, they take the moose meat and give it to the poor who want it.
I know if we didn't hunt, we would have had an empty stomach many times in my younger years.
However, no matter what you eat whether it be veggie or meat, its all vitamins and that is what you need to survive. So if it be a cow, elk, moose, bear, or squirell, its all food.
I only laugh at the animal activists who shout its cruelty to shoot a deer, catch a fish, or even eat road kill. Then they go to McDonalds and have a cheeseburger and chicken nuggets.

plus with that pouch of theirs i'd have a perfect excuse to shoot one and claim self defense.....
...."but officer i saw it put his paw in his pouch and thought he was going for a gun!!!"

, plus the pouch will make a nice new holder for your gun
Merriweather: I think men these days have lost the natural instinct to hunt.
Hey, why do it, we can go to the supermarket and buy meat... someone else has already made money on the product before we buy it.
Men have gone soft ..I'd like to know that a man can still be a man .

perhaps they need something to bring out their manliness ?
i guess there is something special about sometimes hunting an animal and preparing the meat on your own and the raised in nature fresh cooked meat is tastier to have once in a while other than having the meat bred in farms and then stored for weeks in the freezing cameras?
i dont know what deer meat tastes, although they are beautiful creatures and i hope they will not be hunted till they cease to exist as a species

i agree .... why hunt an animal for meat when you can buy it in the supermarket already dressed? and i think because of the huge increase in population since the old days that animals have to be "mass produced" to feed all of us meat-eaters!
these days, men still hunt but they prefer to hunt the two-legged variety

not all of us....
i still part take in the ageless rituals.....
stalking your prey.... setting up for the kill shot.... squeezing the trigger.... then cutting open the chest cavity, grabing the still warm heart and......
.... taking a bite out of it to thank the gods for the harvest !!!!!
then beating my chest.... tho not too hard or too much.... otherwise them old lungs get mad and i start coughing !!!
and lastly letting out a loud.... yeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaawwwwwww !!!!!
pretty much the same as dating !!!!! but without the whining and nagging !!!!

It used to be a necessity in my family but as things improved the game lived on and meat came from the market. Hunting isn't sport unless the animal has as much chance to hurt you as you them.
