Why do some profiles say "not looking", or "looking for friends only"? (20)
I am really curious... What does it really mean? Is it that after some time of online dating you've realized it's hopeless and never going to happen, so why bother? or something else? I couldn't come up with more options to vote on, please enlighten me...

I had "not looking" on mine after an "online" relationship that I felt was gonna work then realised it wouldn't .. so ended it ...
I decided to stay on the site because I liked the forums and the friends I had made here even though I felt that the chances of findind the sort of person that would be on a similar wave length BOTH on a spiritual and human level were pretty unlikely!!!
And I was wrong because in spite of the fact I wasn't looking (or may be because of it) through a frienship communication with someone, I discovered him to be just the sort of man I thought I would never find (and vice-versa)... We've already met and spent 10 wonderful days together and are spending a few weeks together again shortly till we make it more permmanent ...

I voted other as in my case it takes me all of my efforts and time putting up with the men I know in the real world. Such as ex boyfriends, men at work and other men I know in real life and to be honest everyone I like or have liked on here has always been miles away.
So for me it has to be online friends, well for the moment anyway

Why stop at your age Ship? the only time you should stop looking is when you are gone to the great beyond and who knows even then there may be a "soul" mate for you! Don't every give up on finding true love!

personally my profile says talk/email/pen pal.........because at this point in my life i'm not really lookin for a relationship.............yes if one fell in my lap i wouldn't turn it down.........but RL is twisted enough right now without adding relationship to it
