I honestly believe that the end is near...not necessarily tomorrow near, but it is inevitable. This world has gotten so bad. There is so much more hatred, selfishness and other huge problems that something has to give eventually. It seems to me that there are less caring people in the world and to me, that is a huge problem!

ahh it is. Nature has its own way of settling the score or rather rectifying the imbalance ..
It has to be population if you choose from the list.....it underlies a lot of other problems. I don't know why Terrorism is on the list. It makes the news but it doesn't affect many people and is probably more a symptom than a cause.

Interesting thread Riya.....thoughtful as usual!
hmmm... didnt think of it in this regard .. interesting ..
If you shove too many people in one little space and tell them to all share the scarce resources, it kind of makes all the rest of the problems happen.
I'd love to propose mandatory sterilization, but I think that plan would go over like a lead balloon.
Good question Riya im not sure if the answer is oil or god - they seem to be embroiled - all a part of the oneness of surviving in the now - i guess for some folks, the state of the stock exchange today may well be a high priority
our lives are being led by people who's priorities dont actually meet the urgencies of the person on the street
I loved all the good stuff about our recent Dublin trip - but I have never seen so many beggars in the streets
very sad - i know some of them make a decent living that way but heck, some of this suffering is real too - i simply do not know - if I had to choose, I would say that the biggest problem is MONEY cos lots of us are altruists already

ahh so true Trish. The beggars in Dublin sounds interesting to me. I thought it was a fairly rare problem in the developed world.
Money !! I should have remembered. Almost like the axis on which the planet rotates. Quite sad but all of us face this situation. Literally driving life around to make money while not being able to enjoy it in most cases.

Population explosion ... i hate tot hink of it. I think even mandatory sterilisation if was feasible would not help. Its " mentality ' that needs a little insightful change. When people know their economic situation and that they can afford a decent life for 1 child why cant they figure out " no more " ... this is simple logic , simpler than children are God's gift or i would just love to have 2 more.

Simple pleasures .. we need to make time !!
its made me think of something which Algarion once said to me - the democracy we are experiencing isnt really democracy in its truest sense
trish123: I did see similar stuff 30 yrs ago in Morocco though
i dont think much has chaged the whole wrld over - the rich keep gettin richer while us lot..........................................
Sad rite .. we seem to have progressed in technology but significant divides like economic , political , geographical and religious have just become more obvious .. so thats 2 steps front and 3 steps back

Riya, i think the truth is that they ignore the common man (i.e. US) and they just get along with keepin society at its peaceful equilibriumist best - if it was really democracy, our votes would count
