Sorry for the brevity! I'll elaborate.. I'm curious what "nerdy" hobbies you all may have, whether it be self teaching physics or history, medicine or chemistry. Really anything that intrigues you and even though you have no practical use for reading and learning these subjects, you have a passion for it (or them) that you do it anyway?
For me, its a yes! I have been teaching myself physics for the past few years and could probably write a book on it, for no reason other than It's interesting to me! Also since my mother was diagnosed with cancer I've been teaching myself Biology and reading medical journals.
Do you have anything like this that you do? Is there a reason? Elaborate

I love reading about history, I also collect stamps, coins, and I love looking at antiques. the idea of holding something that was held by some other guy 200 years ago is cool. All the changes in the world that item has seen, makes me nestalgic, I also like geniology for the same reasons. I like making things with my hads and emagining someone 200 years from now still enjoying my handy work, Give me a sence of imortality. Well that is enough for now.
That's awesome! I was hoping there would be a few women on here who would have some sort of nerdy habit =o).
And yea, I would like to leave some sort of legacy.. Working on starting a charity (NPO) now, if it works out than hopefully it will still be here after I'm gone!
I am always observing the environment I'm in and trying to understand people's actions. I love learning in school as long as I can participate and ask questions. I'm interested in pretty much anything that comes my way. I take pride in doing things myself instead of always depending on someone else to help me.
odessaukraine48: for years i could get all settle in to a normal life. then the traveling bug will hit me. never been able to just sit back and enjoy my 9 to 5 job.
I know exactly what you mean! I have never enjoyed working for someone else unless I enjoy what I do, and that feeling of being trapped has always pushed me into wanting to get away. If I could travel for a living I'd be set for life lol
Sometimes, but not always,I can get complacent, and into a routine, and not want to try new things at times. Learning can be scary...it's DISCOVERYING THE NEW.

My library contains volumes on architecture, Egypt, history, philosophy, religion, medicine, trivia, literature, astronomy, geology, computers, crafts, horses, biology, classical music, Renaissance artists, etc. I read any book whose title catches my attention.
