I smoked all my adult life, with pregnancy breaks and several half-hearted attempts to stop. I gave up for 5 months last year...hooray! then went back to the UK to teach in the Summer and smoked again with my smoking colleagues! :doh
Now I´m a non smoker again, but it isn´t easy. The temptation is always there.

It's a daily struggle -- not one day passes that I don't think of lighting up - the key is finding more reasons not to light up. Good luck to all that pursue the journey to smokefree life.

I have never smoked. I was married to a smoker. She died a horrible and slow death from lung cancer. There was nothing nice about it. I will never be with a smoker again. I couldn't handle that twice.

I never smoke, but it's good that some people do it for several reasons:
1- they pay more taxes
2- they pay during all life for a pension that finally they will not enjoy, because they don't live as long as not smokers.
They have more sickness, cancer, etc ... it's also a cost for society, but it's compensated by the points 1 and 2 I already told.
