I'm very new at this caper and the thought that my profile is splashed all around the world is amazing. Living in an area with a smallish population makes it a bit hard to be too discreet but I suppose I'm wasting my time if I wore a Batman or Spiderman mask. Now. . . what was my twin brother's name?

What is there to be embarrassed about? If that's truly how you feel, then perhaps its not the avenue for you to pursue dating. Do you not ask your friends if they know anyone single for potential leads? How you respond to others will give them the opportunity to either support you or tease you ..... hopefully if they are truly your friends they will support you in your desires.

There is nothing wrong with this in my opinion. I even ran into a very good friend of mine on here and we just kinda laughed about it
I work waitressing at a local club part time, in a small town of 2,000..Well one night went out for a few drinks there and was standing at a table with a group of friends when 1 of the locals came up behind me and said (Hello Tina, your looking good)my jaw dropped--because my full name is Christina and everyone calls me Chris....I kind of just laughed it off--coming from such a small Norwegian town--internet dating is strange to a lot of people here--even though I met Kurt here and people know it... The man did admit he got bored 1 night found this site and me!!

Must admit that i have had that thought that when walking down the street or out shopping, that someone has seen me on CS, but who gives a Hootin Patootin really.
Easy, buy them a drink, have a chat and see if you have anything in common to help thhe evening go on.I don't see a problem unless it was someone you had dissed big style on the forums. Then you just take your lumps and laugh.

Why would you be embarrassed about it.... the person shouting out obviously isn't, so why not get chatting, especially if it were a woman....... You just got the ideal ice-breaker and she gave it to you

I think I'd feel a bit embarrassed as the person is probably making the comment with malice to make me look small, but I'd point out that they were looking at the site as well for some reason or other themselves
Well, oddly enough, we used to have a member on here called Jampet who I had never met. On my first CS meet in Dublin, I pulled in beside the kerb to ask directions from 2 girls who were walking by Stephen's Green. I'm Scottish and not Irish and I think that's how she noticed me through the accent.
At the top of her voice she said unthinkingly, "I think I know you...You're Godsgift!" Took me totally by surprise. Of the million people in Dublin, I managed to ask as CS memeber for directions. We all laugh about it to this day!

agree
okay ..if you are more of a shy person ..I could undestand if that might be a bit akward..
but otherwise..it's kinda the perfect bait to get live profile person to notice you and hopefully talk to you
