bodleing: Should there be a limit on the amount of threads a person can post each day?
If so, maybe you could suggest what that limit should be set at.
I have voted yes. I tried this a while ago and was outvoted on the grounds that it impedes freedom of speech or some such rubbish, one person who also posts a lot was very outspoken and very nasty about it!!!
Scottishlass: I agree, perhaps if the offending person gets ZERO replys they will realize how silly some of their questions are, and start posting questions that make sense.

yeh, that's happened to me, but I don't think my questions were silly, I was just wondering...

That has happened to me as well, I figured the topic was of no interest to anyone else or the joke wasn't as funny as I thought it was. Sometimes I'll make a post just to get something off my mind & don't really care if there are any replies. What does upset me sometimes is if I think I killed a good thread with my reply.

I've said this a million times, if you are the last one to post on a thread (supposed killing it), it just means that you've left the rest of us speechless....

Hows about a nice letter to the person in question explaining how irksome it can be for other people.
and then simply ignoring the threads
last night there was a really irate woman being rude and causing trouble all over the place - she was simply crying out for attention and by golly, did she get it - but not the kind of attention that would do her any good (except for one or two) - I dont know how it panned out but he threads were gone this morning - i wonder how many would have been made though if she had been ignored sooner
I reckon putting a limit would'nt be right as some posters come up with pretty good stuff on a good day - but 16 and more posts of utter nonsence on one page - it even tries my patience
It needs to be pointed out to offenders that its bad netiquette -

A good suggestion, but I think emailing the person in question would only be playing right into his hands and give him more reasons to make his ridiculous posts.

bodleing: Not sure how you come to that conclusion
Yesterday there were 22 threads posted by the same person on the fist two pages. I just wondered what other people felt about this.
I counted 16 on the front page this morning and have just written to the person to nicely suggest that this can be seen as unfriendly - I know what you are saying Graham but if a rule gets instigated, it affects all of us - better I think to first appeal to the better nature of the person doing the wrong.
Once we have done that and if it continues, well, maybe a barrage of complaints will get the person a warning from the mods or something - once what is being done wrong has been pointed out we have at least done our utmost to be friendly

MHO- PPls should post one per day, if ppls want to come talk to you, more power to you! Note: if your threads only have 10 replies.. guess what.. not many want to talk to you. So, does that person need to post 10 threads in a day to get attention, or to block out all of the other threads that people DO want to talk in.!?
I think posting so many threads shows how selfish, inconsiderate and inmature this person is!
But of course I am just speaking in general..not just any ONE person.

I understand how frustrating it can be but think we have enough rules and regulations to live by.
Sometimes it simply takes pointing the finer points of netiquette out to a person
Even if a post does only get a few replies it doesnt make it worthless - and besides, who are we to judge the worth - if you dont want to reply, fine nobody forces you to - but at the ned of the day, its different strokes for different folks
