A customer has been banned from 2 Tim Horton outlets.

According to Tim Hortons, this particular customer was aggressive and made it impossible to serve other customers.

The banned customer is only banned from 2 Tim Hortons outlets, but if he comes while he is working as a paramedic he is allowed to come into the 2 outlets he is banned from.

Customer claimed the coffee tasted burnt and he was only letting the Tim Hortons staff know.

What are your thoughts on this?

Hmmm...appears to be a double standard - if he is dangerous, then he is dangerous, regardless if he is working or not.
This is a tough one Kim. I have worked the counter in food service and I have been the "consumer" of very bad service, particularly at Tim's. This last time, just this past week...I had to self talk myself into just getting my refund and walking out...if I opened my mouth...?*#!! frustrated It was beyond idiotic.
Odds are the fellow was under a bit of "stress" and got verbal -real verbal - did it warrant a LIFETIME ban...I highly doubt it -consequence - yes.
And again, let's not forget there usually are two sides to the story, and there usually is a story leading up to the story!
Like me...he should consider Starbucks...and MacDonalds makes damn good java! coffee

the rest of the story is this fellow is a paramedic, and he is allowed there as a paramedic but not as a customer.
so if he was dangerous he should be banned all together! so obviously they must not think he is dangerous ! just a complainer !
and their decaf coffee tastes burnt to me as well !

What I wonder about is why this guy continued to go to Timmy's when he obviously didn't like the coffee. I just would not have returned after complaining twice. I would have spoken direct to the manager and then if that's ignored, the owner and if not satisfied, I'd go elsewhere. It's coffee. It's not like it's a life and death situation (although my bff thinks no coffee in the morning IS a life and death situation). As a paramedic he knows about dealing with aggressive consumers of service and would he want someone in his face 24/7? I doubt he would. As for Timmy's throwing a lifetime ban but allowing him in when he is working, well, I think that's a double standard. When my ex and I threw out a customer from our burger joint, we didn't allow him back when he worked - he was banned. I imagine where this guy lived it was a smaller area, so why not just walk away and inform anyone in earshot about the poor service? Last, CBC radio talked about this recently. Apparently servers were putting on coffee when they saw him walk in, he got it fresh and continued to complain in an aggressive manner. In my mind he was simply looking for a fight.

Tim Hortons might be flyin' high at the moment, but so was second cup nto so long ago. What goes up must come down, and so will their franchise. I, personally, hate Tim Horton's coffee, and I can't stand the service I get in my location either. If word gets out that they are starting to ban people, coffee drinkers will take their business elsewhere (I mean, enough is enough! The customer wasn't violent or anything) and in a world of coffee-shops, they can't afford to lose customers or gain a piss-poor reputation. I don't stand in line for coffee anywhere at any time, I always go next door to Tim's (Second cup) where I get service immediately, and with a smile because the staff is less stressed. The coffee is always really good too. If I were that customer that were threatened with being banned, though, I sure as hell wouldn't lose any sleep over it, but Timmy's and their reputation should.
