I prefer men who are taller, but if the guy was really special, I'm might consider someone who is a little shorter than me. Not looking for one of the seven dwarfs though.

Women don't like short men.
Some women say they do, but it's just a lie
to make us give up and stop trying to grow.
I don't know why they want us to be short and lonely.
I hope more women respond. I wanted to see if it was really women's preferences for taller men that is causing a guy in another thread to be rejected, or is it his personality. Could be both. Poor short guys. I hear in China that they can break your legs and then put on some braces to make the bones grow back longer.
Every single woman I have dated so far, or in fact discussed the issue with, has expressed the desire to date men who are taller. Somehow, the shorter the women is, the taller she wants her man to be. I think men's tallness is similar to women's breasts. Most of us feel that "more is better".
LoveMovies: I had to check your profile just in case you were telling the truth, but it looks like you have a sense of humor. I like a guy who is really short so that I have someone to mother.
No, I like small men because My mom has seven brothers. Most of them were small long hairs who looked like vikings. I guess I idolized them because I only dated guys who looked like them in high school. I have also dated at least one tall guy. All the guys I ever dated looked like JRR Tolkien invented them.

It always amazes me why you ladies want a man taller than yourselves, then go out and buy shoes with 4/6/8 inch heels on.
Is that just a superiority thing you got going there, or can you just not make up your minds what you want ?
A mans height has absolutely nothing to do with dating them as far as I can see.I'm alot more concerned about how he treats me and other people then his height.
LoveMovies: There might be a few women who like short men, just like there are a few men who like big women. It happens.
I have to agree with this comment. I'm short so I'd probably go for a taller man. I've also found that most men prefer smaller (as in thinner) women even though I've been told otherwise. I've just never seen it yet.

Being short myself, I wouldn't consider a woman who is over 5'4" - 5'5" but my preference is someone I can face eye to eye while standing.

I believe the popular conception is that men prefer skinny (hence, petite) women, although actual opinion polls show that (american) men prefer a more full-figured woman than you would expect.
But, what I think it actually comes down to.. Isn't so much whether you're a size four, or six, or eight, but that you are generally below the average body weight for your size.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that it should be important. I'm just saying that it, apparently, IS. Men don't mind a taller/wider woman at all, and can often times find them even more appealing- BUT, what their total body weight is will play a big roll in that.
And while what I'm talking about is probably quite close to the body mass index concept, I think there is certainly clear bound for preferences outside of the general notion implied therein.
I actually prefer men of around the same height or shorter for some reason. I wouldn't rule out dating a tall man though. I would draw the line at a dwarf though.

No, I will not date a man shorter than me. Call me shallow but I am being honest. I don't want to bend to kiss him. He should do the bending. LOL
