Toffeapple: Just for fun - might be a repeat poll, but here goes -
I love both cats and dogs - but dogs win most days....what about you?
I like dogs and cats but it is a no pets for me as I am too bloody lazy to give them the care. So I personally opt out of having one. My son wants a dog but refuse to let him have one as it would be a novelty and he would expect me or his mother to take care of it. Maybe when he is older. Hope that answers honestly your questio
I like most animals. Where pets are concerned I have two dogs and a new puppy. My dogs are getting really old and I have an elderly cat, as silly as it sounds I find comfort in their unconditional love.

until last summer I had both..but then my cat died of old age he was 18..my dog..I hope i will have him for at least one more year he is 16 (yorkie)..when he is gone though ..I think I will take a break from having a Pet since they do tie you down somewhat..

I thought I would to and then the little orphan puppy I found came and I just have kept him here for about three weeks . I think he lives here now. After first week I had to name him. He was all alone in the woods without his mommy. His little sister was already gone to where ever little ones go when their time is up. He was to young not to have mama but we have made do with cows milk and he seems to like grits

No babe its ok they just have a lot to learn in the cities they look after their animals ... But in the villages animals are used purely just for grafting ...and money isnt good for farmers. I could make a donkey work for me but it would be appreciated for its strength and dedication
Why limit yourself to a dog or a cat? I have chickens and while I wouldn't advise everybody to have a chicken for a pet (they are livestock after all) They are very nice animals with many traits of a pet. They also have a positive cash flow unlike a dog or cat or most any other "pet" you can name. We do have a cat but she's just chilling with us for the rest of her life as she has nothing better going on, cat people will relate to this.
Having chickens the absolute last thing I want anywhere near me is a Lab. Their breeding makes them a big threat to a chicken.

So you wont put the cat among the chickens or in the UK its the cat among the pigeons

I like all animals, seeing a chicken walking about with her chicks is just a pleasure. I also like pigeons, especially homing pigeons. I like watching them fly, there's something about keeping animals and at the same time letting them roam freely.

Used to have dogs, they got old and died. Have switched to cats. They are more independent and easier to care for, especially when I have to board them when I travel.
