dadvic: yes....but why...since marriages in western culture average 3 to 5 years..
People dont try to put the effert into working threw problems when they arise,it seems its easyer to get a divorce. But in any marriage there will be some ups and downs, you both have to give 110% and talk to each other.I have learned alot about men by reading there profiles,i was suprised at some of the things that they enjoy doing with a woman.

and i am surprised too that some girls like to have their hair pulled....while making love..hahaha
Speaking for myself..marriage is out of the question..my last partner and I talked about going away somewhere..finding a romantic spot and exchanging vows of our committment to each other. We would also exchange simple bands..sigh..then he got on my nerves!

Whatever works for two people is the right answer. Sometimes it is marriage because it makes it easier for family and friends; plus it makes legal issues easier.
But I believe a lot of people could live forever as your mentioned.

demonfairy: No more people are getting married today then ever before.
In north America maybe but not in western Europe. I have lived in 3 countries in western Europe recently and I found the exact opposite. A lot of couples over there these days just live together.

It is not dead and can be a wonderful thing you do it not because you have to prove your love but a celebration of the commitment you are making to her and its going to be in writing and before man and God this is why it seems to be dying not many want to make that commitment anymore

yes its around the world....and where does it last....in countries where divorce is very hard to get.....abandonment is the way ...
I don't believe marriage is dead but I do believe certain circumstances and even certain laws make it more difficult for some of us to choose to marry.

I KNOW EVERY GIRL WANTS THE CHURCH WEDDING...WITH HER PRINCE
ITS JUST SUCH A DIFFICULT TOPIC ... WITH SUCH REAL RAMIFICATIONS
You nailed it buddy! Everything you just said is exactly what I have been asking myself. I am going through the end of a relationship that I think more than anything else will not die out of convenience and neither of us want to be alone. The problem is that she is not interested in making a long term commitment and I am not interested in a part time love. I feel for you brother, unfortunately I don't think there is a simple one size fits all answer for this. I do wish you the best though and I saw in a post you made that she is Filipina? So is the girl I am referring to.. what an interesting and wonderful culture, I can't wait to visit the country.. OH as a ps. Have you eaten at Jollibee? lol... I love their spaghetti, there is one in Queens, NY.. Best of luck to you!!!
I think people don't take thier vows serious enough these days and they don't take enough time to really get to know thier mates. If you see red flags about a potienal mate you shouldn't ignore them you should address them. I honestly think once you are married it is for a life time and the thought is be sure he or she is the one when you propose or except the proposal. I wish you much luck sir I hope this is your last relationship and may godbless you both.
