Generally speaking I am not drawn to a materialistic woman. So honestly I don't know what I would do.

The assumption is that a wealthy person would be more tolerant of a shallow materialist, leaching off them.

I think it's more likely that an accomplished person would seek a lifetime partner with more depth, and someone who they're confident that they're being loved for themselves - not their money.

It's interesting to note that the OP is Asian. I'm not making any assumptions about her. And generalisations are wrong. But I live in Asia, and Asian women face some harsh realities that western women don't face. Asian women have to make more pragmatic choices.

I think Love is a Western luxury.

Many Asian women are concerned about financial security in their old age, and the well-being of their parents and extended family. The responsibility of providing for their family is a tremendous burden that will dictate their lives and their decisions.

And the burden falls more on women than men. Ok, I need to generalise here. But Asian men have it much easier than women. They inherit from their parents, and Asian parents tend to lavish their male children with money and support.

What I've seen a lot of (and this is the contentious part), is Asian men sitting around drinking whiskey with their mates, and spending money. Where does this money come from? The women in the family worked hard for it, as it their responsibility to support the family.

So a white (hence rich) male is seen as more than a meal ticket. More of a panacea to all their hardships.

Anyway, now you see why I'm single in Asia! I just don't buy into this.

Wouldn't do anything with them; I wouldn't date them. Many women are into power and money; why do old men have hot young women. This one is an easy question to answer.

And looking at you wanting to be taken care of and wanting financial security I'm sure, you may be one of them.

If they are dating you only because you have money, than they are not really into you. If you date someone just because they have money, then can that money can be easily taken away. It is better to get your own. Also, I noticed people with a lot of money seem to have more temptation with all the groupies hanging around.
