Conrad73: But then,he might prove to be the most radical of them all!

Not our mid road, President Obama? What gives you thought of that Conrad? Radical? Let us be fair to the man. He comes from Chicago.

If any can be leader of this pack of sharks in the UN....he got to have some.....some iron fist to him. I recently watched a Fronline DvD....was title "Obama: Dreams of Obama." Was about his Chicago years.

Now other than the fact not once was the name ACORN not mentioned in the DvD. They showed Obama to have a 'iron fist' of will power. That you might consider him a softie.....but really deep inside is this
raging tryant.....OK....going a little over board there. Scratch that. Is the this tough politician. Like when he bounced his mentor
from taking back her old job on the IL seat, after she decided to not to run for the UN Senate. He announced for teh IL seat that was open. She decided not to run for teh Senate. Want her old job back.

The Chicago DEM political kins makers came to him and sak him to step down so she could get her old seat back. He said no. This did not make the king makers happy.

But for the UN.....that is what we need there. A shark among sharks.
A lion among lions. A wolf among the wolves. Obama fits the role pretty well.

ttom500: When you have a star the magnitude of President Obama. A young man at age 49. With a family of 3. And leading a country of 304m. It is always good to look down the road to his future. He already has the Nobel Peace Award.

Here is a man that spans the racial barriers of white and black. That spans the difference between America and Africa. That many say is the modern man complete.

So if a global petition to place President Obama into the United Nation Secretary Seat was drafted and circulated online, would you sign it? Would support his nomination and canidancy for United Nation's Secretary General?

A couple of key dates and terms. His first term in the United States Presidency ends in January 20, 2013. He would run again in fall of the 2012, with a election of Nov. 4, 2012. The present Secretary General of the United Nations is Ba Ki-Moon. His first term expires on Dec 31, 2011. He is eligible for a second term.

So either way in 2012 or 2016....President Obama would either resign a year early from the United State Presidency. Or would sit aside for nearly 3 waiting for the position to open.

Your thoughts?

I think you know as every body ,it is the worthless post( UN secretary general) of the world, but you are clever , try to find out a way to get rid of him( after all how long you can tolerate a semi black man leading white men !),

I must admit sometime I really enjoy those swearing against him here in CS , I enjoy the hopelessness of the white men , perhaps that is one of the gifts Barak Obama gives to this world.

ttom500: Now come on Conrad...we are pulling out all the stops here. The world helped to elect him to the US Presidency, so I figure they must like him a lot. So? What place next best step for him, than the UN Secretary General office?

Fair is fair, Conrad.

I just want to see if the world also like him to be a governing figure over their countries as well. Think of all the things he con do for them, in the position.
Increase their UN Fees.....send their soldier under UN mandates to be peace keeping forces around the globe....solve the middle east crisis.....solve their economic problems with UN bailout....Spain was just devalue to junk bond status.....the world needs him too.

Considering they, the people of Europe think he's so great, I believe it might be a good idea to make him UN Secretary Generalrolling on the floor laughing

Did you ever consider doing a poll in relation to what European people think of Obama? wink

Or, do a poll on who the best president in the world is, now given you are only allowed ten options, don't forget to include A Merkel on the list of names.angel

We could do that. Barack Obama might doing jail time and not be able to move to the UN as Sec't General. So yes, I can run a poll with European leaders.

The way his Presidential approvals rating is dropping.....not sure that he is going to have 'lame duck' status if he win a second term. I concerned for his family, Conrad. With high unemployment. Little past working experience in a 9.7% unemployment economy, they could be in deep jeopodary to face starvation or proverty in the future.

Poor performaence ratings (public opinion approval polling) on his present position. Michelle might have to go back to work. Take the kids out of the exclusive private schools. Give up Bo. Move back to the Chicago Skyscraper residence. Maybe even to his Granmother old house where he was raised. That is rough stuff for a Presidential family. President Obama has sacrificed a lot for the country. The least we can do is find him his next gig.

I am just trying to look ahead for him. You know to have a job lined up as this one ends. With CCX changing hands...even that seems to be a doubtful prospect for him. Franklin Raines had him all lined up to help in the CCX thingee as lead attroeny to the law suits that are going to be filed after Beck finishes his expose.

I don't know what to tell CSers here that love President Obama. We are trying our best for him. Maybe if Hillary's wins the 2016 Dem nomination and then the DEM canidancy and then the Presidency, she can bring him on as Sect of State. But Bill C. likes that kind of work. So there is a conflict there.

Then you got the late night circuit. You know Jay Leno and Phil Mather stuff....but its takes him away from the kids and Michelle. Red Eye specials to/from LA and Chicago. That is no kind of life for a former President.

I just think that this UN Sect.General thingee is a good long term gig for him. But it makes sense the take it when he can. He did bump out a former employer and mentor to take the his first gov't position in IL house. So doing in the present UN Sec't General cannot be that much harder. His approval ratings have not tanked yet.So sooner rather than later. Here Dude and self disagree. But both see a good fit for Pres. Obama in the role.
