Evolution is scientific theory which is fact, its only called theory because we don't know all the little details on some points. Kinda like gravity is theory as well. I agree that the questions are not nessasarily exclusive. One could believe in some higher power and believe that life forms evolved. And the other way around.
Believing in evolution dosen't negate a belief in some sort of supreme being.
I agree that life has evolved. I doubt that the spark of life and perhaps the direction and speed of evolution was purely chance. Do I think a white beared wise old man directed each step - no. I do think a life's push ahead into new forms and niches is directed by more than random mutation and chance though.
And I do think - although am willing to admit I could be wrong - that there's is a very good possibility that at least the playing field of the universe was created by a being or beings.
ANd I most strongly believe that each person here who has stated thier opinions/beliefs is quite entitled to thiers and could be entierly correct.
