Sort of a different answer to the poll...I love movies where they adapted the screenplay from a book.

probably horror it has all the thrills of action/adventure/thrillers,the undertones of drama and art house,the curiosity and extraordinarity of sci fi/fantasy,so many are so ridiculous they may as well be comedy or as soom fall under the sub genre splatstick
heres a list of horror that falls into said genres ( didn't count slasher movies as it's a horror sub genre)
action horror:predator
psychological thriller/horror :silence of the lambs
adventure horror:the serpent and the rainbow
comedy horror:evil dead 2
romantic comedy horror:boy eats girl
sci fi horror:alien
drama horror:sixth sense
art house horror:eraser head
though i love all kinds of movies especially if they can break away and fall under multiple genres

For me...I guess it would be a mix between comedies (Mel Brooks rules!), mockumentaries, (Christopher Guest is a genius) and some old romantic movie musical/comedies (Danny Kaye could do it all! sing, dance, comedic timing!)
