OTHER than family friends pets.. anything living.. (because we would all go for those first wouldn't we)

I would go for the household paper work.. IFFF I could get it quickly and safely.
If I had time for a 2nd choice.. it would be the Pc external hard drive with all my photos and paper ON it.
and IF I still had time.. the memory boxes I made the kids.

lol well since just for now instead of pay rent and utilities for an appartment , I just have all my stuff in storage and stay in the truck , when I do take time off I just get a hotel room when I"m in so can't really comment too much

Instead of fighting thru the divorce, I just took my clothes, tools , hunting and fishing gear and told her she could keep house, and both vechicles , and everything else she could do what ever she wanted.

I went for something else.. which would be my phone so's I could ring some fit firemen (hopefully) up to come and hose my house and rescue me

I have actually been in this situation and ended up on the street with a pillowcase full of three cats and a handbag with my ID, passport and zip drive where I had my 'puter back up.
As it was nighttime I was barefoot wearing a coat over PJ's which was slightly better equipped than my neighbours who remembered slippers but forgot to grab a coat and were not wearing PJ's.
The fire department saved the building so all was not lost, just smoked and soaked.

When I was a small child the building I was living in caught fire, I was in the kitchen doing a puzzle when smoke started to fill up the kitchen, I went into the living room to tell my mom, at that time she told me to go back and do my puzzle, a few minutes later the smoke reached the livingroom and at that time the firemen came into the apartment and told us all to leave. We did not have time to take anything as the cool furnance pipes had caught fire and the fire was in the celeing. My mom went to grab her purse when the ceiling fell down. She said she was stupid to go get her purse as the ceiling almost fell on top of her.
