Lonely1: We all know that women have it. How else does a 5 feet waif keep a strapping brute happy and at home all the time? So what is it:

A real woman wouldn't have power over a man.No more then a real man would have power over a woman.Someone only has power over someone if they are given that power.

For some reason "love" keeps popping up in my head. But 'what does love have to do with it'?

In my defence, i'll say in my defence i was in love with the people that i let walk all over me.
It wasn't until after our relationships were over that i could look back at it and realise it was my fault for not being more vocal on my partners behaviour.
But that's my character fault, i do like to try to make a partner happy, even if it hasn't beneficial for me.
Now if i ever meet anyone again, i'm going to be open as normal, answer questions as normal, be supportive, as normal...but i won't go along with anything from now on if it isn't mutual.
I maybe fairly selfless, but i'm trying to change, so i don't need someone emotionally blackmailing me, or being a drama queen in my life.

for me women dont have any power over me im my own power.I would not want power over anyone else eather. then you are getting into controlling, possesiveness and those arent good. power is for fighting or working not for loving ,love is powerless

Good for you, Robbie. I've been there, done that too. Not going back to it either, ever.
I think we need to be fair, supportive, loving and compassionate. But a total doormat? Not bloody likely, ever again! The more I did, the more she demanded, and I was not confrontational when I needed to be. Anything for a peaceful life! Didn't work. I'll be all the stuff a man needs to be, in future - but not continuously subservient again - not that I could see it at the time!

Maybe it is that nagging doubt we have when we ask ourselves if she loves us or not. So we buy flowers, etc., to appease her. Alas, that too does not always work. Love is unpredictable.

very good you are right on that one. both women and men do not need to control each other, but we all see that happening all the time and it is so sad. when it comes to love and relationships it should be considered as partners working together as one not one against the other.
