trolls are people who come into threads and cause problems and disruption on a mega scale, hey usually hide behind false profiles.

I seriously think that people who blatantly keep reappearing, trolling with outrageous behaviour, and those who attempt to keep presenting fake profiles (even though they are quickly outted and shown to be fake) have some sort of psychological, if not mental health problems.
Obviously boredom can trigger mischief to some extent, but when you get the likes of what we've had on here lately, posting obscene, filthy garbage .. there's something seriously wrong there.
And there are some notorious multi-fake profile offenders who appear now and then, trying to blend into the forum banter .. the ones who lead people on and pretend to be someone they're not .. they obviously have problems too.
Well, that's cyberlife for you - a mixed bag just like everyday life

yep, and considering the last one has been at it over a year now, I think alot of it has to do with him having been jaded by someone on here and that was his outlet at first to express it, but afterwards it just became an obsession of his to continue

Yep, it's their way of expressing their anger towards whomever rejected them & towards the entity, that hosted (CS)the forum in which they were rejected.
Rejection is a powerful emotion that can definitely fester into hurt , hate, and revenge very easily for those that have a history of being rejected or those that grew up with social issues during their adolesence.
They are used to not being able to be forced to deal with these issues mentally like you can in real life and just go someplace and deal with it on your own, but on the internet (especially like the forum setting), there is no way to really deal with it, especially if the place you go to is your social outlet in life where they have formed friendships, but they feel a sense of humiliation and as if they can't return. That sense of unable to return to the social outlet that you've always turned too festers into anger and from there a sense of revenge...and well the rest is history because the feelings just keep building & building.

Thanks for posting this thread. Or perhaps I should say that it's good that I read thru it, as I had no idea what a Troll was!
I see ya'll refering to them in thread titles, but it's such a distraction to what I am here to discuss, so I have never ventured into the threads.
At least now I know what they are AND I will continue to avoid contact with these trolls. Besides, trolls live under bridges and I prefer a mate who has a home.

Certainly, the particular troll that has issue with me, I told him I didn't like him in a public forum. A lot of energy has been invested in getting revenge for those three little words.

Yes, that's how he comes across to me. He has this way of ignoring rejection on the surface and acting like he's likeable, a way of ignoring his own meanness and bad behaviour that beggars belief.
And yet he's tried really hard to hurt and humiliate me in every which way possible he can think of.
He's behaved like this towards many people.
