Definately no, I prefer the bread toasted, with or without a drizzle of olive oil, then just rub the garlic over the bread. Though a couple of slices of tomatoes (Jac's ones preferably) placed on top sometimes.

something similar for me: the bread toasted, with a drizzle of olive oil, salt, oregano to make it fragrant... it is called "bruschetta" here and it is very popular...it is often served in the restaurants as well as an appetizer...then usually with some tomatoes (not Jac's ones )..

I like this with crushed fresh garlic...makes me hungry, even though I rarely eat bread

Boy to I miss that!! When I was living in Pisa, my local bar used to serve it free when you bought a drink, so most evenings I would share a bottle of red and eat a stack of bruschetta with his speciality of sun dried tomatoes with chillie, Now I feel so hungry
For some reason your post is blank, for me at least, it would appear that the "Powers that be" can now remove written posts that they object to!!! I really like China, but sometimes it can be the most frustrating country

jamie114: with cheese or with out
I love garlic but we have a rule if one has it everybody does, because of the demon breath
Recenttly I did attend an International expo for non traditional produce and my state group had in it several of them, a pickle whole heads of garlic among them with sliced onions, carrots and spices, it was delicious!
No cheese and the mix of garlic has to be with avocado or olive oil.
leostartingover: How about with some fresh chili or chopped olives? Yum yum.... Taking my boys for pizza tonight and guess what I'm having on it???!!!!
