yes I am very much committed to my promises, to my feelings,to a relationship, to love...

But it often has lead to sadness, when the opposite part suddenly vanishes without a ord. without trace.. u feel like free falling...

So, I learned , that my happiness lives within me..I can not search for it outside, because the one you fall in love with, is a human being after all, and any human being can change...

Hmmmm... interesting. It's usually commitmentphobics who are prone to such self-destructive behavior -- walking out on their partner.

So you had your share of dealing with commitmentphobics.

I wouldn't quite say I'm afraid of committment, but more so the type that tends to doubt why the person I'm with in the committment wants to be with me. Alot of this has to do with the different things I've gone through in life. In a sense I have moved passed them, but there are always moments they creep back up on me and give me that moment of doubt about the type of person I am and in a sense that makes me wonder why someone would want to be with someone like that.

I wouldn't say it's something that taxes on the relationship, but just something that occaisionally tests it (if that makes sense).

I can dig it... lol...

I think, it's a healthy thing to do - to doubt and sort things out before... whatever.

It doesn't constitute being a commitmentphobiac, does it? dunno

Commitment is one day at a time - its simply making the choice to be dedicated to that relationship and person.

I hope it's a hypothetical phobia in your case.

If you found someone you really fancy and it was mutual, would you want to keep your options open, D.?

Hi J, The fact you are aware of it means you can do something about it and we all have moments of doubt J and so long as we dont allow them to control us it's human.

I dont fear commiting to anything that is within my potential or means nor do I fear commiting to a relationship with the right person if anything I have a fear of not finding him or him me before it's time to leave this life.

What about you Laura, what would your answer be ?

There are, Larry. thumbs up

But it's also as good as we make it to be - quite often.

Look at all these CS couples who *took that plunge*/*tied the knot* (call it whatever you wish) - are they so different from the rest of the singles?

Besides not being commitmentphobiacs, I mean? hmmm

One day at a time is easy if you can find the right person,

I was married for 17 years and with her for 22 years...

She Gradually started Drinking More and soon was a full blown alcoholic...I spent 5 Years trying to help her before she was dangerous, and I had to Divorice her...that was 11 yrs ago,

She is still an alcoholic

sigh
and never Found a Right one since, several Wrong ones tho..sad flower

I wouldn't think it's very easy to live with,

but still - it's a very fortunate personality trend for both: you and that lucky man in your future.

I don't think there are many singles who can go with opt #4 without a shadow of a doubt.
