Palin: Journalists incite hatred after AZ shooting
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Sarah Palin posted a nearly eight-minute video on her Facebook page early Wednesday, accusing journalists and pundits of inciting hatred and violence in the wake of a deadly Arizona shooting that gravely wounded U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.
Last spring, Palin targeted Giffords' district as one of 20 that should be taken back. Palin has been criticized for marking each district with the cross hairs of a gun sight. In the video, the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate said vigorous debates are a cherished tradition. But she said after the election, both sides find common ground, even though they disagree.
"But, especially within hours of a tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible," she said.
The term "blood libel" is the false allegation that Jews kill non-Jews, especially Christian children, to acquire blood for the Passover or other Jewish rituals, according to the Jewish Virtual Library. It has been used in other contexts, and Palin's meaning was not clear. Her aides did not immediately respond to an e-mail early Wednesday.
Jared Loughner, 22, is accused of trying to assassinate Giffords, wounding 12 others and killing six people.
"There are those who claim political rhetoric is to blame for the despicable act of this deranged, apparently apolitical criminal," Palin said. "And they claim political debate has somehow gotten more heated just recently. But when was it less heated? Back in those 'calm days' when political figures literally settled their differences with dueling pistols?"
Sarah Palin is a Libertarian Republican or republitarian.
People who believe in these principals typically vote for and are involved with the Republican Party. In fact, they represent a political faction within the Republican Party.
Republitarians believe in libertarian philosophy such as advocating for lower taxes at every level of government, a reduction in the level of spending in the federal budget, easing the burden of federal regulations on business interests, the reform of the entitlement system, and ending or making significant cuts to the welfare state.
That is why she has been so supportive of the Tea Parties.
Sarah is trying to bring the Republicans, Tea Parties and Women together to win Elections. She governed Alaska as a libertarian, given the level of federal control of the state’s economy. For example, she vetoed a bill that would have banned benefits for gay partners.
Is there a libertarian future for the Republican Party?
Sarah has endorsed a string of libertarian Republicans for congress, senate and governor’s races this year, including most prominently Nikki Haley for South Carolina Gov., Tim Scott for Congress in SC, Tom Emmer for Minnesota Gov. and Rand Paul for US Senate in Kentucky.
Sarah Palin; unable to name a single newspaper or magazine she reads, interview with Katie Couric, CBS News, Oct. 1, 2008: Katie was probably asking which ones influenced her.
What Sarah was trying to say was that she reads most of them (which is true). She described it as reading whatever is in front of her. Example of comparison: Let’s say that you read many blogs, comments, or articles on the internet from many different websites and sources. If you were put on the spot and had to answer Katie's question quickly, wouldn’t all of these sources tend to run together in your mind as to which ones were more important? Could you remember the exact websites?
Sarah: “how could you keep in touch with what the rest of Washington, DC may be thinking and doing, when you live up there in Alaska? Believe me; Alaska is like a microcosm of America”.
In Alaska, newspapers are not quickly available from the lower 48 States.
Printed newspapers and magazines have to be delivered. They are old news. The Internet and Satellite Radio are the only “fast sources” of information, so much of “new news” is local. Until Satellite television came along, television programs were broadcast to Alaskans (1) week later than in the rest of the USA.
Katie’s question should have been something like “what media sources did you regularly access, before you were tapped for this, to stay informed and to understand the world”? “Not what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read”?
Printed news is mostly history to Sarah when she is home, unless she gets it from Satellite or when she is in the lower (48). The source of where she read the printed media is not necessarily a priority for her.
Sarah Palin when asked by a third grade student about what the Vice President does:
PALIN: That’s something that Piper would ask me! … They’re in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom.
Sarah was trying to explain the roll of a Vice President to a third grader. She had to use words that a student of this age could understand; not read Article I, Section 3, Clause 4 of the United States Constitution.
Definition:
in charge 1. In a position of leadership or supervision: the security agent in charge at the airport. 2. Chiefly British Under arrest.
in charge of Having control over or responsibility for: You're in charge of making the salad.
Doesn’t this definition also describe some of the duties of the Vice President of the United States?

$150,000 Dollar clothes controversy ...A man can wear the same clothes every day and no one will notice. A woman can’t do that because if she wears the same outfit in July...and then again in October...people will notice. That’s why women have big wardrobes. Let Sarah keep her clothes.
texasgirl8585: She's the opposite of Obama. And she scares liberals. I love it.
I´m not an expert in American politics, but I think your post is a joke no? From what I´ve read and seen on tv Ms Palin isn´t scarey at all, but rather dopey and lacking somewhat academically speaking.
