I would love to have someone around, not to take away my freedom but to share in it.

i do love freedom like anything else in life...
the freedom to act, speak and think freely...
but really the only freedom we can practice living in the society is the freely thinking
any social involvement requires compromises in what we say or do...
with friends, bosses, neighbours, relatives
and the limitations of freedom that are conseguent to being in a relationship are for me the easiest and the sweetiest to accept...
otherwise to be really free the only option is to leave the society and live like a hermit talking freely to trees and plants with no voice in the background

I agree 100%. I spent my 20's bemoaning a lack of a boyfriend when i was single and the older I get, the more I realise that perhaps I'm quite lucky to be single.
Most of my female friends who married the guy of their dreams are now divorced and sharing their children with their ex and his new wife. Half of them battled the courts for access to kids and the divorce cost them a fortune.
I'm not saying I wouldn't get married. I'm just saying that unless you find that person who makes you happier than you already are, life is still pretty damn good.
