My daughter now. It was my mom until she passed away. Then I have a best friend that knows all of my dirty little secrets. Thank God I know hers, too. We cant hold it over one anothers heads.
It used to be just me but that was before I met Joey, now I think he knows me better than I know myself. I love him so much he is my best friend, and soulmate I love you honey
StressFree: I know myself best....most of the time. I'm complicated....
The same here A lot of people do know me for who I am the most of the time when I am among them, but there is also my other self-half (does that mean something in english?) which I keep secret. What to say about the third part of me Me-Myself and I are SO complicated! To know all about me would take a whole dam life But I think, so I am...
i would have to say my daughter, though shes not quite talkin yet she seems to always know when to make me laugh, and be there when im down, gotta love kids.
I know myself best, but there are a few who know a lot. Lifelong friends but they still don't know everything. Still learning and growing, albeit a bit sideways lately.
Most people in the poll say they know themselves best---I just wonder if we know ourselves as well as we think, given it's impossible to have any objectivity. Once, when I was in a long term relationship, my partner would occasionally say "I know you better than you know yourself." It didn't irritate me, 'cause he would always say it in a sweet and loving way, but I would think either he was so wrong or wonder maybe he was right.....Is it possible someone from outside ourselves actually could know us better than we know ourselves? I don't mean all one's little secrets, but who and what you are, the kind of person you are...?

I'm guessing that would have a lot to do with how honest you are with yourself and how much influence another's opinion has on you.

As much a thinking people try to be honest with themselves, I don't think it is possible to be objective--we are inside our own skins and can't see the world from outside that skin.

Maybe not everyone can be objective. Only you know what's in your heart and know what motivates you in doing anything. Others might view it in a totally different light and make you think about your motivations, but only you know the truth. Sometimes it might be hard to admit to yourself, your own true nature, but only you truly know it.

I pretty much disagree with this. If you believe in the study of human psychology, people are very often unaware of what motivates them, and it is very, very difficult for anyone to have a clear and objective perspective on anything. I think part of being honest with yourself is being aware of the fact that you may not know yourself as well as you think you do. There is conscious thinking and awareness and unconsciousness thinking and awareness. As much as we would like to think we're on top of it all, we're not. It isn't possible.

Thank you
Next you'll be telling me I'm from Mars!
That may be true for some or maybe even most, but not for everyone. I may never know everything about myself but I know more about ME than anyone else does. That would include my motivations and my heart.
