it depends.
I am not looking for love overseas. but, if he lives in a country near mine, I would think about it.
I am not relocating, since I have a young child and a good job.
I would go abroad to meet a guy, but only to see if there is a connection in real life too. if so, I would ask him to relocate to my country.
but, to be very honest, I don't see that happen any time soon.

Sure, why not. I've done it before. Only drawback I can think of is the timing (flight prices are high in the summer, etc.). Worst case scenario is that I might get a nice vacation out of it. Of course some countries where there's trouble are out of the question.

You misread the question and description... It's you who had to travel not someone to travel to you and get Canadian (in your situation)citizenship..

I am not sure for different reasons ...
1. I've only just (in the past 3 years) re-located to Spain (my roots and birth culture) after spending most of my life abroad.
2. I wouldn't want to re-locate again
3. If I travel to meet him and we "hit it off" that would mean HE would have to re-locate (eventually) to come and live in Spain. Not sure I fancy a LDR until such. Not sure I fancy sharing my home with someone I don't know VERY WELL first ...
IF/WHEN love strikes, bottom line could be, not outside of Europe ...

I know of a woman from Scotland who met a man from New York and they married. She moved to New York. It happens. I love my country too much to leave it.
