The problem with illegal immigrants is much more far reaching than Hispanic/Latinos. There are illegal immigrants from many countries. If a person is here illegally, then they shouldn't be here. Is it OK to turn your back on a person who broke the law by being an illegal immigrant anymore than if a person was robbing stores to feed their family? You have to look at this issue from the political side. It is far more complicated than just doing the comparison I mentioned. Politicians want to get re-elected. They have to choose very carefully which side of the issue their bread is buttered on.

So true! Although you are right that there are illegal immigrants here in the US from many different countries, the VAST MAJORITY of them here in California and Arizona are from Mexico. And what gets me is how they still feel "entitled" to receive benefits, and are HORRIFIED that a police officer would have the right to ask them for their papers.
Well, like I said before, IF YOU ARE HERE LEGALLY, WHAT'S THE PROBLEM???? Just show them your papers. AND, the cops are not allowed to stop just anyone on the street who they think COULD be here illegally; the person has to have committed, or be in the process of committing a crime. THEN, THE POLICE CAN ASK THEM IF THEY ARE HERE LEGALLY OR NOT, AND HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO DO SO.

When ppl. think of illegals they think of Mexicans, but there are illegals from other countries too. I was once married to a Mexican, he never payed his taxes. When we divorced the IRS took away my taxes to pay what he owed. What bs..We had 3 kids together and hes never paid child support. My kids hate him and havent seen him for 19 yrs. now. He still lives in the bay area but uses fake soc. sec. numbers. My grandparents were from Mexico, my parents from Texas and me from Cali. I say deport all Illegals. ppl. say Im prejudiced against my own race. No I just know illegal means just that ILLEGAL. Im an American and proud of it!

I believe that Hispanic/Latino politicians fighting immigration laws, the protests, or people running on to a baseball field carrying the Mexican flag is doing a dis-justice to the cause. They are making it into a conflict between Mexico and America. This is an immigration issue involving illegal immigrants, not about race. Granted the majority of illegal immigrants are Hispanic/Latino. The more the issue takes on a Mexico vs America flavor, the more people who lean away from Mexico. If the illegals were middle eastern people, I seriously doubt we would see this political fire. So what is this really all about?

its very simple. I'm inmigrant and very proud. This country is my second home since I came 18 years ago n I haven't gone to visit my country, I consder this place as my house. All this time I been working for white ppl, doing many diferent kinds of job. Nice white ppl. N the one who r expecting for hat check in their future, there will no b money collected from inmigrant. I pay taxes if I don't do my taxes u american ppl get cut ur benefits, n govermet raising ur taxes. Since lots ppl lost their job n decided to go back to their country, u guys have lost a lot benefits am I wrong? As u c if the gorvermet dnt get money from illegals u guy dnt get financial help. That simple, o who ever gave their opinion about AZ stuff. I m giving them 2 years to c this state financially struggling. If I was in France illegally, do you think they would look the other way? No way! The US is way too lenient, and all kinds of abuses are taking place. I know of someone who is here illegally, and USES HER FRIEND'S SSN so she can get paid for the work she does. She also lies about how many hours she puts in daily. AND, she can't get a valid drivers license BUT DRIVES EVERYWHERE ANYWAY. This is outrageous, and this money is coming out of OUR taxpayer dollars!!!!
