No but a true story (well it's actually hearsay but I believe him).. I met a man who today lives in Paris but originally from Senegal, in western Africa and he told me that a mad bull elephant ran riot threw the village he was living in and when I asked him what happened he said they had no choice but to kill the beast and it fed the village for 2 weeks.
I have, however, had kangaroo, kudu, shark, ostrich, and it was all good, I have to say.
I fed someone kangaroo steaks on a bbq once without telling him what it was - he came back for seconds, but when I showed him the pack after he nearly got sick. So it's all in the mind, really.
Unfortunately because, of human incursion into the bush, elephants have to be culled on occasion, therefore rather than waste the meat, yes, I would eat elephant steaks. But ideally, we should ensure that the wildlife has an area where humans will never be allowed to enter.
Oh and we can't be all smug here in Ireland thinking about those nasty African land owners and poachers killing cute and furry animals, remember that Irish farmers are promoting badger genocide.
GUZMAN1: Why not? I'd eat elephant meat no matter if africans or asiatics.
Elephants never forget and they are a symbol of longetivity ...I would never eat one,,I think they are amazing creatures..,,,ive got 2 elephants I have on my mantlepiece I bought at a car boot sale ,,everyone comments how lovely they are... Never eat an elephant it will bring you bad luck and shorten your life, Na na .
Best way to ensure the survival of a species is probably to farm it for its meat. After all, you don't see the domesticated cows, sheep, pig, chicken or turkey on any endangered species lists.
Anyway if we don't kill elephants where are we going to get our ivory from, hey, just think of all those hard working ivory trinket carvers out of a job just because a few namby pamby hippy types want to save a species from extinction. Come on people Ivory feeds families and it doesn't bloody well grow on trees.
