With the most devoted fanbase in the Western world, singer Daniel O’Donnell might be expected to waltz straight to the final of Strictly Come Dancing.
But that assumption has been thwarted by a ban on telephone voting in Ireland, leaving diehard followers planning to cross borders and enlist family in a bid to get him to the final.
O’Donnell, beloved by fans for greeting them at every show, will take to the dance floor in Strictly this weekend, along with 14 other celebrity contestants.

So in order to vote for Wee Daniel, I have would have to either fly or drive at my own expense to Northern Ireland, or the UK, buy or steal a phone, all to send a text to vote on a TV programme I never watch.....and all this for a singer who if the was on the TV I would switch channels or turn it off......er.......no thanks.
