...there is a difference between engaging a feeling of, *serves you right* (a personal feeling), than actually connecting with the other real person's actual pain in experiencing the squirm...aaaah language serves nothing when it comes to clarifying some things!

What exactly is squirming by your definition?
People often say this when they´ve done something wrong, or been misunderstood and the other person in the situation is not immediately forgiving.
I squirm when I read some things here, or if somebody is being made to feel embarrassed or acting in what I perceive to be an embarrassing way.
So, the answer to your question, using my definition of the word, is no.
