First has to be chemistry, then get to know each other some and then falling in love could happen.

Maybe I´m wrong, but I have experienced love at first sight when I was very very young, and we stayed together for over 25 years, yet I don´t think it really happens with older or middle-aged men and women.

We don´t have that freedom and carefree attitude to life and relationships that we had when were teenagers, or in our early twenties, and we aren´t as pretty or good looking enough to provoke a heart stopping reaction, which may or may not turn out to be love at first sight!

I think it can happen at any age.

I fell in love at first sight with my late husband ( and he with me I believe ) when I was 43 and we had a wonderful life until he died.

When I was young I fell in love with my first husband after becoming friends. So you never know what is out there.

What I would prefer? Easy - 100% fairytale style first-sight-love!

At 40+1 half your life is already past; why loose more time being logic and grown-up about everything, enough with such anyway, right?

No, if it was my choice I'd go for the big BANG anytime.

Love at first sight, nah, I don`t like that one .... Never worked for me.

Much prefer getting to be friends first.

This guy I met now ... absolutely perfect for me .. but... I`ve known him for 4 years, and never took any notice of him before, except for the fact that if he was at a function, I always had a dance partner!

I used to think he was ... actually ... quite .. well, ahem .... ugly? But, getting to know him, I now think he is the most handsomest man I have EVER seen! hahaaaaa ...... And a wonderful personality, a deep thinker, intelligent, kind, talented, trustworthy, etc etc etc .........grin

I go for love at first sight.

love has all to with feeling.. I don't want to think about it too much...

because I can talk myself into falling in love with somebody....and I'll never go that road again.

so I promised myself to trust my feelings about someone....and not to think about it.

I cannot fall in love with someone I know. dunno 'Falling in love' happens to me because I idealize someone I DON'T know well and when I really know him - I either start to love him or I don't. smile But that doesn't mean that I have to be in love to start a relationship. Sometimes it's enough if I like him. smile

thumbs up

I completely agree with you. smile

I've read so many books about psychology and there are so many 'proper' thinking and 'proper' living and 'proper' pieces of advice and one day I got tired of all of that and realized: I just want to be happy. smile I don't care if I'm not 'proper' at all. grin
