There are several homes in my area that have either one of the Atlas products or something made by one of his competitors (not Rising S, I don't know anyone with a Rising S shelter). If America was sane, all new homes would be required to have one built in, but that is not a law. So many Americans have one added after construction. As you can see in the below video if you have enough land and money that is easy.

Hopefully it is never needed, but like the smoke detector outside the bedroom or the fire extinguisher in the kitchen, one feels better knowing it is there.

They better be part elephant. That door (and frame) is warranted to withstand 24,000 lbs pressure. Hit it with an 18 wheeler it should yield, but of course the concrete steps going up to that door would probably ruin the axles.

All that said, if someone was kicking, I would probably go have a cup of coffee first before dealing with them. I put some Kevlar 49 in the walls 30 years ago and I am not too worried about anything less than an M2 with SLAP rounds. A downside of my response would be the legal requirement that i had reason to fear their actions, and of course if all the camera shows is some Glocks or ARs, well that would be hard and maybe just giving 911 a call would be the best legal option. Yes, if I saw a technical with a Ma Deuce on the back I could show justification and there are some options here to negate that threat. But lacking that, I will sip my coffee and just watcch and film. Maybe share the clowns on Facebook, I dunno.

Even Being a short-timer here, this is a fun place! A couple things though on the negative side though. I’ve heard of so many diapered whiners complaining and getting good people banned from here for life. The ratio of men actually seeking the love of their life to women is messed up.

It wasn't so long ago I did have a drunk at the front door. Think it was about 0200. I called the police and had him towed away. But OP was talking about somebody battering the door. He left a full beer can which I poured out. Not that I don't like beer.
