there is no way to make everyone to like you no matter how good you are, so better not to think about it and only think about people who do care about you ..
, I did tutor some boys last year it was not comfortable at all 
because they were around 15 and 17 .. I work now in a girls only school .. But to be honest, dealing with boys was much easier when comparing it with girls 
.. I am not bothered now because I heard the same complain from almost every teacher in the school 
I had my share and it doesn't bother me anymore ..
