I am on very good ground with my ex. Two weeks ago, I presided over her wedding with the man she left me for. As I am writing this, she has my van, so she can get to work. We see each other a couple of times a week.
Bottom line is, she's a good woman, basically. She just wasn't good for me. The day she told me about her lover, I said O.K. went to the bedroom, got my things and moved into the spare bedroom. No yelling, no anger. Here's the deal, I don't want to be where I'm not wanted. So now the woman I still care about is still in my life and we are great friends. I love her....but not IN love with her, now. Why deny myself her company, just because we are not married anymore
I think god(?) only gives us a certain number of smiles and then we run out! So I try to apply the smiles to only those who deserve it. I really, really dislike phoney smiles!!
