RE: Rewriting History

History will always be prejudiced to support the virtues of the day.

When we were proud and patriotic all our history was gold and no one else's history mattered, now that we are liberal and tolerant our history is dirt and Black history is proud and not the millennia-old lack of achievement it actually is.

If you believe in racial equality, as many people do today, I wouldn't even pretend to be an impartial historian.

RE: Dating: Now Vs The '90s

The last time I asked a girl out for a drink I was sat on the toilet. I'd say dating is natural to a fault.

RE: Negative People

What an ironically bad attitude you have.

Anyway, life is stressful and if I lived near a giant hole in the ground I'd go and yell into that, but I don't so I'm here to be as cantankerous and relentlessly grumpy as I like and it's nothing personal(okay sometimes it is).

RE: after all, if we're under sharia law

The Iranian Sharia looks more like European Fascism - i.e. it tends to the poor, educates women, and occasionally develops something useful - whereas Saudi Arabia is Fascism with very few of the good points.

RE: after all, if we're under sharia law

This

Sharia is this minus technical progress and social welfare. No autobahn, no cancer research, no free medicine, no volkswagen, no sputnik.. but the repressive sense of stability is the same and that's appealing to anyone who would choose security over everything good in this world.

RE: Why do women live longer than men?

Yes, Socrates. "Live fast, die young" - that's testosterone through and through.

RE: Why do women live longer than men?

Live slow, die old.

RE: why all theses wars and fighting

You can have a social conscience mate without wanting to kill yourself. And the world's not that bad, especially not the world we live in, the only part of the world that has many people like you in it. Think about that when people tell you you're irrelevant. Saudi Arabia has virtually no one who sounds like you.

RE: Humanity

The future will be a cross between the loathing self-obsession of people like you, Track, and the flowery self-obsession of people like Beautifulyou.

The robots will deal with all the real problems of the world allowing us to be 100% self-absorbed.

RE: "DIFFERENT PEOPLE"

I'm interested in the tale and not the teller. As a kid I played for the ball and never the man. If the blog is interesting it doesn't matter whose blog it is or who else is on it.

RE: Consumer rights...

"The customer is always right" is exactly how a business deals with a customer who has more money than sense.

RE: Consumer rights...

This stresses the importance of self-assurance and knowing the value of things. Advertising, marketing, and salesmen are all their to prey upon your suggestibility and how easily you are influenced by externalities.

And the best way to lure people with externalities is to convince them that they're immune to such externalities. This is why we live in a culture which speaks a lot about independence of mind but has never been more enthralled to the ploys of marketing and advertising. Convincing a person that their making their own mind up when you are in fact making it for them is the best way to manipulate people.

Personally, I run my business on a fair days work for a fair days pay. It's a motto but I believe in it. And it pays long-term when you respect your customers and intend to run your business, under the same name, for many years to come.

RE: Paris, not like it used to be

You think it's bad here, Crown, so did I until I saw France.

Tight-border multi-culti is better than open border assimilation. I'd like to ban the burqa and other displays of hard line religiosity- I'd like us to have tight-border assimilation - but more important is keeping the loons out to begin with. I'd prefer a right-minded foreigner who can't speak English over a foreign lunatic who can. Nature trumps nurture.

RE: Paris, not like it used to be

Regarding this issue I'd certainly choose Britain's strict at the border and loose-liberal society within over France's loose at the border and strict society within.

It really demonstrates which is more important out of nature versus nurture. Ideally you'd take the good quality control of the British(the best natures)and combine it with France's stricter social discipline(the best nurture). But it is clear which one is more important just by looking at the difference between London and Paris.

RE: Paris, not like it used to be

Lindsy, I see you're trying to paint it as a lack of respect for the host culture - in a sense it is, but unavoidably so - when as far as European standards go France could not be any more assimilationist. Could not be anymore hard line on making migrants live the way of the French.

No the problem France has is the problem that you are, Lindsy. The complete absence of quality control and the belief that chimps can be equal to civilised Europeans through culture, education and training. In the nursery rhyme you and the French are the little pig who makes his home from straw. The complete neglect of the human raw material beneath is where you go wrong.

RE: Paris, not like it used to be

You can tell that women set the tone of the age by this ridiculous charade of equality we play out. We can't entertain the idea that someone or some group may be weaker or more of a loser than we are without feeling contempt and maybe even hatred.

Hatred of the weak is the behaviour of women and insecure men. Real men know that humanity is a hierarchy and pecking order, and we do not hate the foundations for being at the bottom just as we do not hate the Africans for being our primitive origin.

RE: Ideal Man, Ideal Woman…or Settle for 2nd Best

There are plenty of ideals out there. Lots of people are "the one", and that's why your one visits the same internet site or lives in the same block of apartments as you.

I know that somewhere on the earth there will be a better woman than the one I have kids with. But I'm going to try very hard to pretend otherwise. A little self-deception keeps the love alive.

RE: What is Thought?

Mind and thought inform one another using the methods of thought and mind. Meaning that you may or may not consciously realise when this happens.

RE: What is Thought?

Thought is self-aware and conscious. Mind is instinctive and subconscious. Thought and mind, the conscious and the subconscious, are together dwarfed by the majesty of all creation. The things we know and the things we dream are less than what is.

RE: Anyone play the stock market?

If Scotland goes independent you may want to have a little think, Biff. It wouldn't be long until the Glaswegians are at the door without a state/mountain of debt bribing them at bay. In future times it may not be in your self-interest to be so self-interested.

RE: Anyone play the stock market?

Is that Pee-Cee? I thought Pee-Cee was the system of universal goodspeak everyone indulges in as a substitute for actually doing anything for anyone else.

RE: Anyone play the stock market?

With great shame yes I do play the stock market. Korean stock market to be precise. Everything about it revolts me, but for the moment I don't have the money to help anyone but me.

Ideally I want to be a multi-millionaire when I'm 50 so I can help my roots, but my business now just will not make that kind of money.

RE: Everything big...started as something small....

We have to find better ways to invest ourselves and our resources now that the economy is down the tubes and the welfare state, bankrupt.

No more pet grooming services! No more community landlords! No more inane or greedy ideas based on squeezing the last bit of life out of an obsolete and decadent system! Instead, spend money in such a way that it actually helps a Human Being. What a noble thought this is.

RE: A Muslim President

If I was non-white I'd hate the system as of now. I'd hate you for humiliating and belittling me. The unspoken premise of all these quotas etc is that non-white people can't be as good as white people.

I do believe the Muslim president is unlikely. But a Muslim lecturer would be suspect because you can't guarantee his Muslim isn't the reason why he got the job. If the environment is old White middle class liberals you know that they won't judge foreign people and ways on their merits. You'll pick them for a novelty but civilisation cannot survive like this for long.

RE: A Muslim President

Firstly, I completely reject the anti-scientific notion that biology/race has no bearing upon behaviour.

Secondly, there's quota goating. If you require a cabinet of 15 members and you draw 5 from a total of 100 White men, 5 from a total of 10 black men, and 5 from a total of 10 women for the sake of equality then your black men and the women are not going to be the best people for the job. That's simple common sense.

RE: Definition of a 'full' life...?

A full life is the admiration of your grandchildren. When younger generations look upon you and yours with respect then you have lived rightly.

Time is the trial of all things, history is the judge, and posterity is the jury.

RE: Chasing Shadows

Yes, it's warming to remember past lovers. Once a girl earns her place within your heart this is not lightly forgotten.

Men don't make a song and dance about feelings, but our feelings run deeper precisely because they're not displayed on the surface. Just because we do not want to be with a girl anymore does not mean that we are as cold as tho we had never known her.

RE: long hair vs short hair men

You know a handsome man dressed like a loser loses to an average man dressed as a winner. But an average woman dressed up to the nines loses to a beautiful woman who gets dressed in the dark.

RE: long hair vs short hair men

The only real fashion consideration you should make is your clothes. Dressing to impress is more attractive to women even tho it's women who mostly do it. Wearing unflattering and functional clothes is something the traditional man's man must stop doing.
