The transition sped up & became more distinct during Obama's 2nd Term.

In a number of ways - The Don co-opted Old, MODERATE 'Crat positions -
Notably the Pocketbook Issues that flipped the Rust Belt for him.

There's an IMAGE Reason that the Control Left Puppeteers dug up an Yellow Dog Fossil from the 'Crat Political equivalent of the Geological Strata.
