Yes, it can...I have seen the power of love in my life...my parents are a good example. But I think the challenge for all of us is to differentiate between romantic love, (idealistic love) and "real" love, ie mature love. Most of us don't have a good understanding of what love is, or should be until we get older....and by that stage, it's often too late to benefit from that wisdom..
My condolences....he was a fine man, a sharp intellect, and a pleasant, engaging personality. And most importantly, he was the epitome of a gentleman...
