Accumulation of lactic acid can cause cramps in the legs if you have started exercising after a long period of time. Your skeletal muscles are not used to the exercise routine and get tired quickly. Hence glucose is converted to lactate anaerobically. The lactate clears after a few days which results in relief from cramps when it’s converted back to glucose in the liver.
KEEPING YOUR BODY WELL HYDRATED, TAKING ADEQUATE SALTS IS GOOD PREVENTION FOR LEG CRAMPS
Because Causes of cramping(from wiki med) include
hyperflexion, hypoxia, exposure to large changes in temperature, dehydration, or low blood salt. Muscle cramps can also be a symptom or complication of pregnancy; kidney disease; thyroiddisease; hypokalemia, hypomagnesemia, or hypocalcaemia(as conditions); restless legs syndrome; varicose veins; Diabetes2...etc
general, night leg cramps are likely to be related to muscle fatigue and nerve problems. The risk of having night leg cramps increases with age.
Stretching your calves regularly during the day and at night will help. You can often prevent night cramps by exhausting the stretch reflex before you go to bed by stretching your calf muscles with wall pushups and applying a heating pad for 10 minutes before going to bed. Keeping blankets loose at the foot of the bed will help prevent unnatural positioning of your feet and toes which can cause nighttime cramping.
There are certain areas in which man is free to exercise his will, where he can choose between good or bad, right or wrong, and for which he will be held responsible. On the other hand, there are areas in which man has little choice of his own, and appears to be a pawn in the hand of the mover. The general plan of things in nature, which covers and controls the destinies of nations and peoples, is one such area. The circumstances of a wider application make an individual of society completely helpless; he has no choice but to move along like a straw being carried by the waves of a river in spade. Respecting other religions and participating in their happiness, does not reduce our devotion to our values/our idol worship/scriptures/..whatever to each His own. The world will become beautiful when we forget the many differences of many of us. ..and celebrate each other's happiness. May the Universe bless all of us abundantly.
I am no philosopher but as far as i have realized Positivist comes from Faith. Faith in something higher. Faith that everything is gonna be alright one day. Gods plan is better than...my plan First and foremost thing i do when i am tensed or i feel a lot of negativity in me is I sit down take my beads and meditate. I have been doing this for quite a while now sometimes these sessions even stretch up to 1 hrs 30 mins.
This work because of my strong faith in Lord and obviously the power of meditation. I know that lord is watching over me and he has a plan for me. Why worry when you have Supreme god himself planning for you ?
Second thing that i want to mention is change friend circle. People you hangout with has a huge impact on our thinking process. Pick them very carefully. A circle full of negative people will gradually make you pessimistic. So surround yourself with people who emit positive vibes, people who believe in you.
Sometimes you will need to forcefully think positive. Do this on purpose everyday and gradually it will settle down in your subconscious mind. I have tried this method and it really works.
Fasting. This will slow down your metabolism so much that the blood flux in your brain won't be enough for thoughts to emerge most of the time. That's why people fast to meditate. That's why Moses saw god on the mountain. So forth, so on.
Sleep deprivation. It's easy to understand why this one works amazingly well. When your tired, really tired, your brain goes bananas. First, your thoughts stop making sense. Then, your thoughts stop existing altogether.
Repeated practice of altruism. This is a weird one but it works wonders. And that's because your thoughts come from your ego (according to buddhists and hindus - as I understand it). When one practices altruism what one's doing is slapping their own egos in the face. One's putting someone else happiness before our own and that slowly kills our ego. Without ego, thoughts become less frequent. Eventually they can become inexistent at will. In a weird way the christian concept of Agape induces what the buddhist call Mindfulness (a meditation-like state of mind where one accepts what is with no thoughts/judgement).
There are many other ways to reach thoughtlessness like chanting, omming, taking vows, singing, raving, driving cars at dangerous speeds, inducing pain into oneself, yoga, breathing exercises, getting into stressful situations, etc. We have such a vast amount of options on the menu because since men exist, even if unconsciously, we're obsessed with transcending our bodies. And the way to transcend is through mindlessness.
Over-exercise. When you're running like crazy, your mind can't think of much. Your body is simply on auto-pilot, you're not conscious about putting a leg in front of the other. You're just trying to sustain it. Basically, your body's trying so hard not to faint that your mind gets a break.
Over-think. When you overflow your mind with information, bizarre things can happen. You can see this happening if you play a complex musical instrument like piano. When you're reading hieroglyph-like symbols in a sheet of music, playing different rhythms with each hand, moving your feet independently and singing at the same time, your mind goes bananas and you get the feeling that you are not thinking. That's because you are not. Many musicians report that the moment they become conscious of what they're doing, their performance falls apart.
Entheogens. Cannabis is the most popular one. Instead of smoking it, experiment eating it. This reliably induces mystical experiences. And for the same reason that meditation does. Your mind gets so altered that it cannot make sense of itself anymore, so it stops trying. In that moment, you stop thinking and start feeling. This can also be achieved through psychedelics.
An old horse named Charley....
