RE: A Night Without Sleep

Wise words, FJ man. and congrats, our friend.
but, are we now seeing, again, as ever, that the voting with our feet hasn't stopped. Grateful, for almost any sorts of human behaviors. If properly sourced.

RE: TFR's in Palm Beach County...

Yep, C, and speaking of airports under special conditions. Reagan National is just down the road from the capital, linked by the T. Lots of cots and rest rooms, warm chow, and other accommodations for our national guard heroes, who bravely guarded the Swamp, and as thanks were told to sleep on the cement floors of unheated car parks. With hotels in and around the Swamp all nearly covid-19 empty. If the ex Potus had known, who doubts he wouldn't have offered rooms there in his hotels? Who, those under the curse of the Syndromes. Just watch.

Sometimes schmaltzy blind love of the underdog,...

And yep, first the amphibians, then the birds. Woe are we.

RE: flow of life

It remains an open question whether we are born with large capacities to love. More so, to love unconditionally.
Seems like the seed gets planted well. But it faces strong winds on the nose, in early infant years, but also possibly even before birth. And amazingly, epigenetically, from what happened in previous generations. Both nature and nurture have their hands in the sad condition, along with the items on your list, and also in the stars. Love usually doesn't hurt.
Public health prevention at pre primary, and all other three levels. Education, not least in early life, as with parenting. I have to think hard about ORGAN-ized religion's possible positive influences. The evidence could be better, on this last one..

RE: Yellow Alert! A signal has been Detected

My Goddess, the displays of scientific ignorance are legion. Prompted by the arrogance of dissing the intelligence of most grounded folks. Sure, useful commercial industrial diamonds are getting harder to come by. Gems, in spite of the communist free market hating biases, not so much.
But more to the point, those would be giant gaseous planets. Your plans for mining gases, or even the unlikely case where a solid core exists.
Step aside, and let a man who can see, saw, see? SEMIN-ary indeed. Chock full of Father's Ben Dover.
Knucklehead. Yuk, yuk, yuk.

RE: flow of life

JS, can any of us quote you on all that?

Any other men, or CS ladies who like women,.....

You are so correct and with it, as ever, CO. Already seeing positive changes. Of course, now the trick is for our State and National Pols to get it. World as well. The latter can take it's sweet time. Thanks.

RE: a amazing man,,,,

Yep, E. Years ago, came close to marrying a lovely and intelligent Norske Jennte. Even went there to get to know her homeland and family. Childhood stupidity on my part pushed her away. won't do THAT again!

A reprieve....

You might say so, our friend.. Brilliant Brit wit and humour. Who can beat it? With or without a big stick.

RE: will tourism end ,,,

E-sure it will. But as per my long post on topic, I hope with lots of sensible innovations. Fossil fuels also will be around, but we should use these more wisely, not least in travel. Options, patience, community.
Did the Vierk really say all that?

RE: The doors rattle

Offices typically are for real card carrying professionals. How so you?

RE: Pet Peeves... well sure, I've got a few...

Lots here as well, my friend. One of my 'favorites' is when some behave with a great disingenious style. As in being quick to change directions on policy, soon after, VERY soon, things change, to match their sensibilities, while ascribing it to other motives, or to no motives at all. Excepting perhaps cost of doing business.
Bit of that about.
But yes, robo calls are a close second.

Any other men, or CS ladies who like women,.....

Yes, E. Sort of my points. Thanks. Here we live by the ocean for a fraction of that. Those prices would keep me away from many such places. House poor ain't good. But I'm hardly an oligarch.

Any other men, or CS ladies who like women,.....

Good points, E. Thanks. I'm referring to women who relocate to Malta. Many from other parts of EU. I've found a very high percentage who love it there, but then can't really afford it, and so seem to be after one thing. GD's. But only anecdotal evidence on my part, which is why I asked for opinions. It all seemed to strike me as odd. But perhaps predictable.

Any other men, or CS ladies who like women,.....

Yes, AB. Sorry if that's your very own arthritis. Few get through later years of life without at least a trace of one of the varieties. Just be grateful if it wasn't one of the juvenile onset types.
Never been to Malta, and it may be swell. But there seems to be a greater population adjusted concentration of more hottie tarts, and fewer others, than most places. Except larger western cities.
There's certainly much more money, if in fewer hands of some, as mentioned.
Correlations in life raise suspicion. And help generate testable hypotheses. But do not prove things. As in that between hot GD's, and money.
Words to the wise usually suffice.

RE: Any Thing Goes

Last year, during one of my winter trips to the Azores, several Dutch girls were staying in our hostel. Great girls as usual, as long as a man gets used to genuflecting whenever they walk by. We all got to talking about tolerance for spicy food, and they dared me to make a soup they couldn't get down. Portuguese peasant Kale soup. not even all that spicy. They gobbled it down, but then had heart burn. Dutch women.

RE: Any Thing Goes

Sounds yummy, FJ. But those Dutch folks sometimes can't handle the spicier stuff. Right now, I have so much crushed red pepper on this pizza I made myself, I can barely get it down. Beer helps.
It burns going down, and it burns on the way going out.

Just wondering out loud.....

Thanks for the usual good thinking from FJ and AB. Hope readers get hip. I could use the same.

Just wondering out loud.....

Yes, you three. I've learned to practice care in thinking of the world too much as my oyster. After living in the Big Easy, and watching how they get shucked with those sharp knives
I'm already in paradise, but only for the warmer months. A bit too vanilla as well.

Just wondering out loud.....

Thanks, but no thanks. First, fake educator, VERY fake, heal thyself.
A suitable requisite for more helpful better human interpersonal interactions, at many levels. I've provided enough diagnostic clues, resting only on impressions, unlike those of many biased clinicians. Admittedly, likewise, these may have been worth the price charged. And paid.
Only then, some may be open to making nice. You might even find a real GF, one admired by others, rather than merely rationalized as mostly of lonely and heuristic value.. Benefits, all about. You'll see.
T F L R I J S G. Tootles.

Changing times.....

Well, AB, as I said, it's tough walking the line between being a free speech site, and editorializing/blocking. I'm amazed the CS folks were so tolerant for so long. But they too have limits.

RE: could you live in a van ???

Easy to understand, CO. Sometimes I'd even be inclined to share Bravo's dog house with him. Nice to have you back into the melee.

RE: could you live in a van ???

Yes, D. I might be all wet, but perhaps due to economic necessities morphing some, for many, there seems to be a gradual move toward appreciation of ecological principles in many things of humans and our environment. Especially when we speak with many, certainly not all, younger people. This is much more than a reactive and often anger filled rejection of things political, although that is involved. It seems to be a combination of awareness of limits, combined with a growth in need for communities, of various flavors
Sure, it's all happened many times before, as with our (Utopian) back to the land hippy communes here, most of which failed. I sense this is different, less easy to describe and involves clued core values..
But one knows it when one sees it..

RE: Jim's CS matchmaking service.

It's not exactly a festival of mental health here. From my standpoint, you lack the clinical skills/temperament/experience needed for the work. All joking aside.

RE: The -isms...

Some of us were fortunate enough to have had genuine proletarian parents. Communists---not so much.

RE: The -isms...

Yep, C. So much invective, use of hate words, and those phrrases and words signalling guilt to the core, and broadcasting virtue.
Human nature, more in some than in others. Who would have thunk it?

RE: Plan R..[ what went Wong

And just BTW, as to radio nets, are you on ham 20 meter HF short wave, J3E upper sideband mode. Lots of fone nets, my friend.?

RE: Plan R..[ what went Wong

Sure, AB, on target as ever. But take my words for it. Poodles, especially large untrimmed Standards, are great. But now being with my first of likely many German speaking adoptees, hard to match Sir Bravo.
But do I find the same for human females? Well, I have tried some of various linguistic skills. Also have their places.
But, only my pillow knows for sure. Well, perhaps the profile a little as well.

RE: The trials and tribulations of being in a lockdown in the UK.

Well, travel isn't bad, LH, So good point. As is REAL, not fake travel, which for extended stays or other reasons, learning the language, makes sense as well.
Less a Brit/Yank thing, sadly.
But adhering to every word of my advice, verbal or otherwise, especially for women, and for man crusher men, Trumps Travel by a long shot. You of course agree

RE: Happy New year hmmmm

Rodent and garden songbirds bird lovers all. Always adored cats. Why, braised in oil with lots of garlic, they taste even better than chicken.
