Anyone having good weather?

Ooh Crazy brrrrrrrrrr rolling on the floor laughing

Anyone having good weather?

Bluesky, you sound like my cousin in Cornwall, she insists it is always hot and sunny there laugh I have a gloomy FB friend in your area and she's been complaining of temps in single figures (celcius) and lots of cloud - what a difference outlook on life makes, eh?

Anyone having good weather?

LJ, 65 degrees F is around 18 degrees C, so my heart can remain uneaten laugh we have similar temperatures. That snow in that pic is awesome, but you look happy!

October is a good time for Spain, although all the fiestas are over by then smile

Anyone having good weather?

I drive a Toyota moping

My dog is 14 years old I think she might be past her best-before date rolling on the floor laughing

Anyone having good weather?

Red yikes that sounds both beautiful and flipping freezing! Teddybear for you too teddybear

Anyone having good weather?

Nota, I think I was one of the ones who drove past looking the other way help If I'd known it was you .... sad flower

Nice winter woollies, though laugh

Anyone having good weather?

Harbal - will this help? Best sunshine I could find which I thought you might identify with ....

Anyone having good weather?

1to1, yikes about the winter storm watch, fingers crossed for you. BFF is back in Vancouver for 10 days and says it is looking ominous for the weekend even where they are uh oh

But the headlines also do love to terrify people very mad hope you stay wrapped up and warm - your place or your friend's wink

Fay, combining your comment because it's linked, BFF flew to Vancouver from Florida early this morning and agrees about the chilly mornings, says it was 2 degrees warmer in Vancouver! Seems to be generally very similar to Spanish temperatures, though, about 18 degrees celsius - guess we're the lucky ones yay

Anyone having good weather?

Z, is there at least some more snow on them thar hills? cool

RE: Raising grandkids and beyond.

I don't even have grandchildren yet, the chances of my surviving to greatgrandchildren are beyond calculation.

Would I raise my grandchild, if I ever got one? I'd really, really sooner not uh oh I think the very old and the very young have a lot to offer each other but not on a fulltime carer basis, not good for either.

RE: "Accident" ? I don't think so !

Russian roulette ...

Anyone having good weather?

You can always escape for a week to Spain in March - 3 year anniversary of the little blogger meet. I don't mean little bloggers (apart from Titch of course). laugh

Anyone having good weather?

Oh aye the Scots are immensely proud of their 4 seasons in a day too. Yesterday I looked at their weather forecast, clear skies, minus 1 C, feels like minus 5 ... a perfect winter day, looks like. And one season, all day grin

So Molly you're basically in normal-for-season-mode, nothing scary yay

RE: Why Trump Will Win the Wall Fight

and banning sales of ladders rolling on the floor laughing

RE: So you get bored one day

Like nearly anything free to singles, it is crammed with chancers. But who knows. All that advice you got, maybe they are right, you are wrong, and there's one person you might otherwise not have met ... only need one

laugh

RE: So you get bored one day

It is fully international, to be best of my knowledge - certainly big in Europe and when I haven't logged in for a while it isn't possible to get through the entire list of profiles in the 50-70 age group - considering it is an app aimed at younger users, the mind boggles at how many there would be in that age group

Even in the 50-70 there are many torso shots with, um, tight-fitting swim trunks ... left, left, left. There are profile pictures of statues, seascapes, glasses of wine (married or hideous? no matter) ... left left left. And there are names like Jean-Claude, and Bjorn, and Dieter, and Peter, and those are the non-Spanish living in Spain and yup quite often they too want to hook up but with French or Scandanavian or German or English-speaking ex-pats. Every now and then, one in thirty, one in fifty, there's some lonely old dude who thought hmm this could be a way to meet people who speak my language, whatever that language may be, in a sea of Spanish.

There are a surprising number of lonely old Americans living in Spain. I shall now skip those profiles as well, knowing they are, no matter what they may say, purely in it for the hope of a passing bonk.

RE: So you get bored one day

Molly it was the proximity bit that I really liked - when I was looking at profiles it was also easy to see by their headings or even their names what language(s) they spoke, I didn't have to open every profile to read it, and I thought it worth a shot. (Manuel, left, Paco, left, Jesus, left, Simon oh hello? read profile) May yet pay off at some point but what I'd really like is one for friends where I could therefore see women as well as men laugh

RE: So you get bored one day

Swipe right.

If you saw her profile, she will see yours.

If she swipes right you can message each other, and you can point out that to post such photos of an app that operates on local contacts is going to raise a lot of eyebrows. She's either terminally stupid - in which case she will thank you and hastily change her profile - or she wants to create an issue in which case she knows exactly what she is doing.

But she sounds terminally stupid to me. laugh

RE: After we all leave this charmed life...

Nothing like a sudden change in perspective to re-route a mind. I watched a video recently about a heavily (seriously heavily) tattooed man who'd been - well, the circumstances don't matter. If he'd sat next to me in a bus, I'd have changed my seat. If he'd been the only other person in sight on a road I had to go down, I'd have near peed myself with fear. Turns out -

I like my perspective challenged. I think we tend to lock ourselves into tunnel vision and refuse to see things which don't fit the picture we demand. Not yet - touch wood - had a brush with serious illness but a few deaths of people I knew well have shaken my world like a kaleidoscope.

RE: A couple of recent articles of interest

Jim - I knew that already, that it is a temporary tax break. My friend is rich-ish. Is he rich enough? I haven't liked to ask laugh

There was talk of another tax break just before mid-terms but I can't see anything more on that?

RE: I adopted a liberal

If you have adopted a liberal, there's hope for you yet. Owners do grow to resemble their pets.

RE: A couple of recent articles of interest

Lot of people climbing on that bandwagon, and many of them aren't going to let a little thing like unembroidered facts spoil a good yarn. I'd not buy a single potboiler put out with an evocative title, but that's just me.

As we've said often enough before on CS, 3 sides to every story. It's quite annoying for an outsider that extreme right can't see a single flaw wow and extreme left can't see a single virtue to anything the Republican administration has done so far, and no-one is coming up with that third side. A Democrat friend of mine has been doing his taxes and says the new standard deduction (did I get that term right?) will make his taxes way easier in the future.

Now I've either had to leapfrog over nearly every blog in the top dozen for months and months, or read more than I ever wanted to know, or cared a fig about, about US politics, but fairly sure I've not seen anything about that. So - off topic it might be, but is there really something newly in place that helps all Americans in a useful way?

RE: Under Achiever

Harbal, I'm sorry your blog went phoof but lots of people read it and lots of people agree and the mods are being fair-handed and active again which is WONDERFUL

And your opening comment on the poof blog just went to the top of the list of my favourite CS comments.

applause

RE: Wish I could turn back the clock..

Weddings, milestone birthdays, and funerals all bring back the past vividly. Hope the other girls take your good advice and elope, you sound tired comfort

She does look very happy!

RE: Build the wall.

LJ, why was it not a priority until the Democrats regained some power? He could have put it through with no trouble while the Republicans controlled the House from 2016 to 2018 - it was, after all, a campaign promise, a priority you would have thought, along with draining the swamp.

Instead he chose to focus on tax breaks for the wealthy and, as it turns out, mistakenly or otherwise employing a great many alligators who have let him down very badly. I am not quoting hearsay but his actual words. He trusted a lot of people he shouldn't, gave them a lot of power they shouldn't have had, and has since publicly repudiated several of them with extreme prejudice in his tweets, with more due to follow.

But the wall - the 'caravan', although it had taken months in the building and the marching, was unheard of until campaigning for the midterms when it suddenly sprang into prominence. Ever since the wall has been so important it even justified the longest shutdown in your history.

You see, to the outside world, it looks like a very spoiled person throwing a strop and creating an artificial storm in a teacup because he can. dunno

(My personal suggestion would be to build a long series of prefab towers along the border and install a whole series of retired rightwingers to man them. They'd be proud to be supporting his mission, they could earn a little more on top of their pensions, and no invader in his right mind would set foot within rifle range - but that's a joke, not a deliberate suggestion grin)

RE: A Day Like Today

Post your pics when you're done? Enjoy -

All the things NOT in your profile

Bogey, to automatically and instantly get rich? I give up. Why do people play the lottery?

All the things NOT in your profile

Vier, excellent acoustics in my bathroom, and the neighbours have never yet hammered on the wall. Life is good.

All the things NOT in your profile

Very VERY cool though when you have liked talking to someone, enjoy how their mind works, and then you meet and there is genuine and mutual attraction. About the best thing re meeting online is that you talk far more, far sooner, than in a face-to-face growing friendship applause

All the things NOT in your profile

Red, at this rate you'll be able to describe yourself as toned in no time laugh
