1. A song by the 60's song artist Donovan. The song's influence was from a short-lived rumor that a euphoric high could be reached by smoking banana leaves. The song became very popular in the late nineties after a cover was made for a series of Gap clothing commercials.
2. A Coca-Cola product with high caffeine and citrus flavor; not related to banana leaves at all.
Yup, that's a given, they have made a choice and really the blog was not so much about them as about who else of us would have that kind of courage - if it be courage
Stepping out of the comfort zone whether you try someone older, younger, a different race, strong but different beliefs, or simply a different language does take a kind of courage.
Bloody, I never thought of them from that point of view before never mind a week together, having to move into a guy's tree and chat with ape visitors while you teach him how to talk and be human and we all know how guys resist being changed
Oh Art if you'd had a French accent I don't think I could have contained myself, you luscious bit of crackling you as it is you're lucky you had your Mimi bodyguard
I only met these people yesterday, I haven't been brooding for ages about it
Daniela, you intrigue me, I have never dated a Frenchman. Pun intended?
Merc, this guy's accent in English is velvet musk and goes straight to press a little button in your head marked vavaVOOM. Maybe it is when he speaks Spanish too!
Hmm, top timing, I have a mail from a German dude who is blown away by my beautiful smile. He's really tall. I mean REALLY tall. 7' tall. And in one pic with a bunch of others he looks perfectly normal height so he knows a lot of really tall people too.
Jac that is so cool! What was your mom's home language, and do you speak it?
My in-laws met in Germany just after the war but she did speak some English. When he took her back to England she watched every episode of Coronation Street slavishly to learn more, her German-Corrie accent was a treat,.
Merc I think they are in it for each other and best of luck to them (I need that little green emoji I keep requesting) and I obviously don't know if this is their first holiday together, but a week is a long time. She's in her own country, she'll be able to chat to people anywhere, but he's going to have to shut up a lot. Or learn Spanish really quickly. Maybe that's part of the attraction, though
Odd couple
Mimiiiiiiiiiiiii yes it does you are braver than almost anyone I know!
