RE: I've Not Seen Merc Here Lately - (aka "A Prior Chatting Blog")

Hey Kal, No I think mango season has just finished here. I moved house from where the big mango tree was before, but I did dig up a seedling from it so one day I will have the same ones.

I think it's for Aboriginal communities, it seems to have channel 9 stuff as well as sbs and nitv, maybe others too I dunno. We dont get it here.

RE: I've Not Seen Merc Here Lately - (aka "A Prior Chatting Blog")

I'm pretty sure its the same everywhere now, except Imparja maybe a mix of channels.

RE: I've Not Seen Merc Here Lately - (aka "A Prior Chatting Blog")

I'm just going by what they say at the end of the news each night... Think it was around 75 cents or so, bit more or bit less, but about that.

RE: I've Not Seen Merc Here Lately - (aka "A Prior Chatting Blog")

In Australian dollars, so something like 750k US...

RE: I've Not Seen Merc Here Lately - (aka "A Prior Chatting Blog")

And he had the phone number of a lady nearby or something. I think the Beaumont children is a much bigger mystery, and maybe Harold Holt...

RE: I've Not Seen Merc Here Lately - (aka "A Prior Chatting Blog")

Yeah, the Somerton man... My guess is Russian spy.

RE: The Scar

I'll also wear one myself, in case hers slips off.

teddybear

RE: The Scar

The scientific fact of the matter, is you don't look at the mantlepiece when you're stoking the fire, if you know what I mean.

RE: The most insane traffic in the world

I can't see why a bipolar person couldn't be in charge of traffic there, they'll do their own thing anyway and it keeps someone gainfully occupied.

RE: The Scar

I think this issue is more likely in an arranged marriage. If you choose your own partner because you love them, you'd accept whatever imperfections a person has. I'm sure the man has some scars or imperfections himself, certainly being unrealistic is one of them.

RE: Greed

I understand many jobs are not valued as they should be- medical, child care, charity work etc... I also understand there are places with great disparity, like India or the Philippines etc. where there is fantastic wealth next to miserable poverty... Blah blah blah, look at me I'm a shining beacon of humanity.

The OP being in Australia, I presumed he was speaking in the Australian context, we don't really have a class system as such. We're all middle class if we choose to be, or we can choose to hit the drugs and booze and be lower class, or get out of bed early/work really hard and be in an affluent class.

RE: Greed

The majority of multi millionaires get out of bed early and work really hard, why should they give everything they've earned to those that don't?

RE: Is this right?

It goes both ways-

Women strongly dislike the idea their partner will be hanging around mates with no partner or responsibilities, and develop a taste for freedom.

Men strongly dislike the idea their partner will be hanging around a bitter man hater, who will try to spread hatred and mistrust.

Neither is particularly healthy.

RE: Fresno [ next exit

Get some cigarettes.

RE: older woman and younger man couple.

It's great taking older women to the cinema, you get to see lethal weapon 5, and she get's some knitting done on that cardigan she's been fussing over.

RE: the hair on my back

Sorry to break the bad news, but hair on the back means the evolution is going backwards.

RE: I've Not Seen Merc Here Lately - (aka "A Prior Chatting Blog")

Same way, when you see someone totally stacked, it's more polite to compliment her eyebrows or something.

RE: I've Not Seen Merc Here Lately - (aka "A Prior Chatting Blog")

See?... I know stuff.

RE: I've Not Seen Merc Here Lately - (aka "A Prior Chatting Blog")

Smaller ones hold their shape better, that's a scientific fact. But, one certainly does notice the top-heavy birds in day to day life.

RE: Animal cruelty

I'd like to start by pointing out we won the war easily.

But apart from that, it comes down to money. We want cheaper meat and eggs etc., and the only way this can be provided is by scale of economy. Ultimately, the true cost of this is at the expense of animal welfare. Unfortunately, the most concern is for "charisma" species like horses and koalas... Easy to have a big feed of bacon and eggs, then put on a leather jacket and leather boots, then drive to a protest about koala habitats or global warming. Or blog about horses being mistreated elsewhere, pretending that is the only place it happens,

RE: Statistically speaking...

Well I don't mind really. Single with kids is better than married with kids right?
