The image that came "before" is as valid as the image which came "after" In such a scenario; there are infinite quantum copies of ourselves, in these (infinite); Multiverses...Thus one may be "old" in one and "young" in another; although time is relative to EACH of these Multiverses. Thus our Perception of Time is an illusion, as (overall), there is no "reference point"; and hence ALL Things may be regarded as happening Simultaneously...
Like a funhouse mirror; will generate an Infinite number of reflections. Which 'reflection' was the original one? It is Not Even Necessary, to Know this! (as each 'reflection' is as valid as the one, which came before, (and after) it. There is No past; there is No future, all things are happening Simultaneously, in such a multiplicity of Infinite Universes; and Time itself, is an illusion...
The Multiverse theory explains it best; for mine. Many (even infinite); Universes; with not a god, to be found in ANY of them.
What makes our Universe so special? Well, nothing really; its all just a multiplicity of infinite voids.
Like the (iterative) Mandelbrot Set; the necessary pre-conditions were there, from the very start. Only Gravity, and certain very basic Quantum preconditions need to be met; and the whole thing then just perpetuates, ad infinitum...
Why make a big thing of it? The principles of boyancy, are well understood. I would want an austere environment, with the three (above-mentioned) scrutineers...
There is some truth to that. Consider the concept of Dark Energy, and Dark Matter. These things are essential to many concepts of modern cosmology; yet Scientists haven't the faintest clue what they Really are! They have some theories (which is a good start); but your guess, would be as good as mine, concerning such things..
It is good, however; that you "stand corrected" (since by acknowledging your error), you have now advanced the factual truth of your blog (precisely through the mechanisms, which I have described above). So there you go: Science in action!
I'm glad that you "stand corrected". Scientists (themselves); don't pretend that they are "smart"; (although, often, they are very smart). Scientists (themselves); must also stand corrected; when one of their Scientific Theories, has been proven, to be wrong. They do this so that a (possibly better) Scientific Model can take its place; thus furthering Scientific Thought, (in any particular Scientific Field) - this is actually how Science works. It is achieved by a process called Critical Thinking; and is part of the Scientific Method. This is how Science (in this case Cosmology) is advanced...
Actually, they can see back, to about 13 to 13.5 billion, light years ago (not 90 billion years); since the known (observable) Universe, is is estimated, to be AT MOST 14 billion years old; (based on cosmic background radiation)...

Is "Reality" pixelated at minute (Quantum scales?)...........^^^^^ (see above) Physicists used to believe that Time could be infinitely divided, down to ANY Scale...Now it appears, that Time, too, has a Plank Length..(at infinitesimal scales); after which it can be divided no further.........
