RE: Back to school

I've got an interesting, and true story for you. In 1999, I was a junior in high school. That was my last year to have a math class. My math teacher said something that struck me. He said, " I don't know why they make us teach you all the things we do. The majority of what we teach you'll never use in life". He went on to say that if they only taught us what we needed to know, we would only be in high school for a year.

Then a year or two ago, I had an oceanography class. My professor for that class basically said the same thing about college. He said, " You don't need a college degree to have a great career. Some of the most successful people are actually college dropouts." That means that unless you plan to be a doctor, or a lawyer going to school is not necessary. From what I've heard, you can learn just as much from talking to people with knowledge, reading books on a subject, or watching documentaries as you can from going to school. In some cases, you might even learn more from all that then from going to school.

RE: Dying Breed

From what I hear, Japan has the lowest birth rate. I was watching a documentary, and they were saying that the Japanese Government actually considered paying couples to have children. Not sure when that documentary was made. The situation may have improved by now.conversing
